Despirately needing some advice......

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you out here in cyber world would have some information for me. I am not from the New York area and my finance is. He really wants to marry in New York but I am so fearful of the costs that New York brings with it. I have a question to ask all of you.....don't laugh because this might be a good one. I want to know if anyone knows of a nice facility to either hold a wedding and/or a reception for about $45 a plate. If you have any advice for me, please let me know, I look forward to responses and maybe even a few good laughs!

You may want to check out Reception-Halls.com You can search by price. I'd keep in mind though that if you find places in your price range they may be for day time of weekdays (I think $45/plate in NY for a weekend evening would be very difficult). Once you find a place on that site you could come back here to get feedback. Just a suggestion. Good luck, NY is crazy expensive for weddings!!!

Take a look at the Huntington Townhouse!! I know they can be VERY reasonable if you're not set on a Saturday night wedding. My cousin got married there and it was very nice!

Good luck!

I just heard that Majestic Gardens on a Sunday in July of 2005 is $100 pp... I am not sure of a place that is that cheap... My FSIL is from Kansas but they are getting married in NY and she was very taken aback on how things are done here.. We convinced her to do a little more than what she originally wanted to do so she is having a Sunday afternoon wedding at The Woodlands and got a preconstruction price of like 65 pp... but still that is the cheapest that I have really heard of... I would check out the Huntington Townhouse, they seem to have reasonable prices

Only places I can think of that may be able to accomodate your price range are The Huntington Townhouse or Ariana Waterfall.

Or A VFW type of place, there are some that are actually BIGGER then most halls but cheaper...do you know of anyone who has an affiliation with that type of thing? A friend had hers at a VFW that held 350 people was great and because he uncle was a member it was $35 pp vs $75??

I am paying $55 per person for a Friday night in Sept. They will go lower if you have it on a Sunday and have buffet instead of sit down.

What about manor east? I would def look into there. You could also try the coral house. I'll be honest, though. You wont find anything at that price on a saturday night. But $45 is NOT impossible either. How many people are you looking to have? What time of the year? Do you want a day or night reception? These are all factors that can determine a price. Give us a bit more info and we can help you out some more. For now, try these

The VFW Hall in Seaford. I think it's called the Masonic Hall or something.
Try for a date that is out of season (January through March) That will definitely help.

We are planning on about 75 people attending the wedding and I wanted to plan it for Sept. 3, 2005, if any one has any more ideas just let me know. I want to thank those of you who have given me some great ideas. Thanks again!

I believe the Huntington Hilton on Rt. 110 or the Irish Coffee House (Bayshore?)may be able to accomodate your price range.

David I responded to you on your other post regarding the Riviera. I was surprised that when I booked the Riviera for 7/06 there were already some Saturdays that were taken.

Try The Birchwood in Riverhead. It's also in Polishtown. It's GREAT. The food is excellent, and the room is really cute. I will look for a picture.

Re: Despirately needing some advice......

Huntington Townhouse has reasonable prices and they have a lovely facility. Ariana Waterfalls offers all inclusive packages (reception, food, dj, limo, photograph) for a s little as $9,000 which is great and they inside of their place is really nice.

Look around you'll find something. Stick to Friday nights or Sat or Sun. afternoons when the price is cheaper.

Good Luck!
