Okay, so one of my smaller diamonds fell out of my ring. It is the third time this has happened. My fiance is getting so pissed. Has this happened to anyone?

Re: diamond fell out
No but I have to get my ring insepected every six months for the warranty and last time one of the stones was loose so they had to tighten the prong...how often does this happen and what so they tell you they do about it? Seems fishy to me...

You should contact your jeweler and demand a new setting. That's way too many times......

Re: diamond fell out
My ring has diamond all arond it and on the inside. It has happened three times in different areas. It's a platinum setting. I thought that meant it would hold the daimond in better.

platinum should hold a diamond better, but not if the setting is not made / adjusted properly.
I agree that I would go back to the jeweler and demand a new setting.
Do you wear your ring all the time (to sleep, shower, clean, cook, etc.)? If so, you might take it off for those activities.
Still, losing 3 diamonds in a short period of time is just not right - contact the jeweler!

Re: diamond fell out
I've lost my side baguettes 2x it was the settings fault so the jeweler fixed that problem and the prongs where loose so he tightened that too..FH says one more time and we are getting a new setting..but definitely check with the jeweler

I lost one on SATURDAY! I brought it to a friend of a friend and she said they were all loose! I am not wearing it until we bring it back - but we have to go to the city.
I am so upset...pics in my album.

Re: diamond fell out
if your ring is white gold ask the jeweler to reinforce the posts with yellow gold or platinum. fh had gotten me a white gold ruby ring when we first started dating. I lost 3 rubies and he finnaly told the jeweler just to change the prongs. thats why my ering is plat. fh wasn't taking any chances

OMG - did you find the stone when it fell out? I would be freaking out if a diamond fell out of my ring.

Re: diamond fell out
Ok, heres the deal. When u get it cleaned, you need to have the jewler ALWAYS check the diamond to manke sure its tight and not lose. (my jewler does this all the time). What happened to me, 1 week be4 my July wedding, she went to clean it, and afterwards she said it was very very lose and recommended not to wear it until a man comes in to fix it. It literally wasn't fixed until 3 days be4 my wedding. And this was my center stone!
As bad as this sounds, as your wedding draws closer (if u haven't had ur wedding yet), do not wear your ring all the time, even though you will want to. Because even if u have insurance, theres nothing gaurenteeing you will have ur ring back for the wedding. Be very careful! This goes out to everyone!!!

Mine didn't fall out but I have been having problems with the diamonds being loose...I have to take mine in to get checked out every 6 months and last time they had to tighten all the stones and I think they are loose again

Re: diamond fell out
I have very small diamond stones around my setting and I've had one stone fall out and one come very loose (all within 6 months of getting engaged). It happens sometimes...and im not tough on my ring at all. Just make sure you have it checked often.

Re: diamond fell out
It hasn't happened to me, but it does remind me of a story...
I went to a wedding not too long ago and towards the end of the reception when people started to leave, there was all this commotion on the dance floor. We looked up to see guests getting on their hands and knees looking on the floor and under tables - the bride was hysterical and the groom was running around like a madman.
Apparently, her 2K rock had fallen out of her engagement ring at some point during the reception and she'd finally realized it just at that moment.
They never found it.
I felt so awful for her. I can't even imagine how she must have felt to have this happen at her wedding and in front of all her guests. There was an after-party at the hotel and she tried not to think about it, but you could see in her face how heartbroken she was. No one knew what to say to comfort her.
Thankfully, they had insurance and I'm sure by now she's replaced it, but it is a very good reminder to make sure your stones are professionally tightened from time to time - and especially before the big day!

That is sooooooooo terrible! She must have felt HORRIBLE, especially in front of everyone, I felt so stupid, but I say why, it isn't my fault! That just stinks! Poor thing.
