I dont htink I ever did. How are they? I think I want to go.......

I attended one before I got married. It was good, just to see what options are out there. I didnt use any of the vendors, but regret putting my name in all those contests, because the calls were endless...'You won a free trip....blah blah.
Nothing is FREE!!!!!

I went to one put out by the Scotto Brothers, exclusively for their brides. It was alright, I found it a little overwhelming, but I went in the early part of planning. Maybe if have a couple of things booked and your just going to get some ideas it is less overwhelming?

I went to a showcase one time to specifically see a band that was going to be there. If you go and do not want to get tons of calls and advertisements in the mail, I suggest you do not register when you walk in. JMO. I have been getting tons of calls and mail since then. I did like the fact that I was able to see tons of flower arrangements and that is what helped me decide on the types of flowers I wanted.

They usually advertise them in the paper.
Are you talking about a Bridal Showcase in general, or one that your hall offers??

I went to 2. One was a small one at my hall, which was ok. Just their 'recommended' vendors were there.

We also we to one of those big ones at Hilton Huntington when we were first engaged. What a nightmare! We found the vendors to be REALLY aggressive, and we are still getting promotional mailings from vendors. They give your 'registration' info to all the vendors there. One vendor mails me something at least once a week, and some weeks I get something everyday. And I called to tell them I'd already booked someone and they keep sending me things for almost a year now!

Wacky - on this site if you go to Wedding Services and then Showcases, there are a bunch listed there!!

I think it's fun to go once for the experience. I actually found my photographer at a bridal expo. You can always put down false info at the showcase if you don't want annoying mailings.

I attended one in the city and I hated it! It was packed! We were invited there to check out a particular band. I couldn't even enjoy it because I had to stand throughout the whole thing and I received so much junk mail afterwards. I don't think they are very helpful.

I went to pne last year. It is great if you are just starting out with the planning. You can get a lot of great ideas. The only downfall if that you have to give your name and address to many of the vendor and then th junk mail begins to pile up!

Yeah, I know what you mean about junk mail. I went to one in Westchester and before you even go inside you have to fill out a form which I guess they give to all the vendors inside because I had mail and phone calls from so many of them. It got annoying for awhile but it did finally stop.
