Did anybody else do this or is just me?

I went to try on dresses today. I had tried on a ton of dresses before so knew basically what I liked. I was looking for a detachable train, satin bottom with beadwork around bottom and some kind of tank top or sleeves. I saw one in particular with beautiful beadwork but it had a cathedral train, it was strapless and had organza over satin. Nothing like what I was looking for. Then I saw the price tag (it was half of others I had tried) so I decided to give it a shot
I loved the way it looked. It really stood out compared to the others. My mom and aunt loved it too so I ordered it

Then I pull up the designer's pic of the dress and I don't like the way it looks in the pic. Now I am second guessing myself. What the hell is wrong with me?

Did anybody else love the way a dress looked on you and hate the pic from the designer?

Well I dont hate it but it dosent do it justice!! dresses can loook sooooo different just by who put them on.. since you ordered it go back and take a pic of yourself with it on!!!
show us a pic!! and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The same exact thing happened to me. I wanted a plain white strapless dress with detachable train. I ended up getting an ivory and champagne dress, with organza overlay skirt, with lots of beading and a long train! I later found the dress in a bridal mag and I think it looks only OK on the model. But I still love it on me

Me! I think the dress is ok on the model but it does not do the dress justice. Don't second guess yourself. If you love it, it is the one.

for instance, and PLEASE NOBODY BE OFFENDED!!! but the p.c. mary's ads are so bad!!! the ads make the dresses look so cheesey, but the dresses themselves are really pretty and are not given the looks that they deserve.

I tried on Julz's dress... andseen it on her and on the model.. hands down looked THE BEST by far on her ( Julz)

I am so glad that I am not the only one. I just always think that things are always suppose to look better on the model but like some of you said, the pic doesn't do it justice. Plus I think that the pic is silver beading on white and the one I tried on and am getting is white on white. I like it better.

i hated mine in pictures also a dress sometimes looks different then in the pic. if it looked great on i wouldnt worry about the picture

me too. I never really noticed the dress before I tried it on. That totally happens.

My 'model' dress does not look anything like it did in person. If I saw it in an ad, I would not have chosen it.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I found a dress that I never would have picked and absolutely LOVED the way it looked on me (and I tried on a lot of dresses) Funny thing is, I ended up trying the same dress on at three bridal shops (among others) and even the people that worked there, said that is the dress for you. Well, this is all before a picture of the dress was even available. I contacted the designer after I ordered the dress and they sent me a picture, I HATED the picture. It looks soooo different on me. Needless to say, now I have seen the picture in a few magazines and basically hate seeing it. I definitely had some second thoughts when I saw the picture but the people that saw the dress on me keep reminding me how great it looked. I even went to a different shop and tried it on again just to put my nerves to rest. I LOVE IT! DON'T go by the pictures, you may have a completely different vision and look in mind. Sometimes they put different veils, headpieces, accesories with the dresses that just don't look good and you may have a completely different look than the model. I think it's normal to second guess but believe me, I know exactly how you feel, if you loved it on you, that is ALL that matters

Yup. This happens. Dont 2nd guess yourself. Some dresses I saw online I hated and then I tried them on for the heck of it and loved them.

yes!!! i loved the dress in person and how it looked on, but i hated the way it looked online in a picture and i was totally second guessing myself!!! but now i learned to realize that i picked that dress for a reason b/c i loved it on and how i felt in it- not that way it looked on some model!

I'm sure your gown is gourgeous, if it felt right most likely it is right, go with your gut though and if you are really nervous call and cancel you have 24 hours to do so at most places

I would have never even looked at my dress if I saw a photo first. After I bought it, I saw a photo and couldn't believe it was the same dress. I think it looks better on me.

And Julz... you do look great in your dress!
