Did anyone else get this letter from Macy's

Stating that if u give them a copy of your guest list they would send all your guests a postcard telling them u r registered there...I am sure my Bms are enclosing a card in my shower invites...do i need to do this too and isnt it kinda tacky? J

Not registered at Macy's...but,

I do think it's not necessary especially if you think your bridesmaids will include it in your invite. My sisters handmade my shower invites (beautiful, I might add)and included at the bottom: 'the future Mr. & Mrs. Steve X are registered at Fortunoff'. They chose not to include the 'registry' cards and forgot to add that we're also registered at Bed Bath & Beyond! LOL :)

I did it and didn't think it was tacky until I found out that Macy's sends the whole registry list to everyone! How embarassing!!!

I wouldn't give them the guest list info....

I wouldn't give Macy's the guest list info because you may end up with towels and toasters at your reception. Even though that's a nice thought, I believe that most brides and grooms would appreciate the good old green stuff. Also, Macy's may then send your guests unwanted mailings. (some people frown on that) Just have the bridesmaids include it in the shower invite. Good Luck

I never give out other people`s personal info ..

they aren`t doing this as a favor to you, they are doing this as a favor to themselves. Those names and addresses will no doubt end up on their regular mailing list.
