Did anyone 'fib' to your bridal salon about your wedding date???

I recently ordered my gown & told them my REAL wedding date- I didn't even think to tell them an earlier date. Then someone informed me I should have lied & said an earlier date!
Have most of you done this??? I wish I would have known

I told my place my real wedding date but told them I am moving in June and I will need my gown before then they will have it here by May

no i did not lie but my wedding was a ways away and I did not want it too early.......i never really though about lying

I told my bridal salon that I was getting married on May 1.

But my dress still isn't in!!!

My FMIL suggested that I do this - but not to make the date too far before the actual. But don't worry about it - it's not a big deal - they are expected to get the dress to you on time and no matter what date you tell them the expectation is still the same. It'll be fine.

Yes, I did!! I gave them the date of the week before!

my dress was ordered on new years day and it came in sept and they kept untill jan

I didnt and my dress is there for me all altered and waiting to be pressed and picked up on the 25th for the 28th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told mine a week before my date.

I used May 23rd for my wedding date, then the bridal salon told the manufacturer it was in March!!! The dress has been in since January!

A few people told me to do this. I just ordered my dress and forgot. I am not a good liar anyway
I ordered it later than I expected to so I hope there aren't any problems

I worked in a bridal salon for 10 years -- and people always told us the wrong date -- usually 2 weeks before their real date. I totally agree with it ! I used to tell the brides to give me and earlier date . Bridal salons are notorious for ordering late and vendors never meet their deadlines. I would recommend this to anyone. Those of you who did not -- DONT WORRY -- most bridal salons are on top of their game -- and will ensure that the dress in in on ti,e -- I am not trying to freak you out ! LOL

I told my consultant the real date and she put 9/1/02 just in case.

I told them the real date. But I ordered about a year in advance, so I wasn't worried.

I gave the salon my real date and the dress came in - 4 months earlier than I was quoted.

I wouldn't worry or anything - just follow up with them to confirm the order was placed. Let them know you're on top of things

I gave my actual day... I had thought about lying, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.
