Do they have grounds to take pictures?

They have some areas to take pictures. You can search for other brides that got married at the CLM and look at their albums. However their grounds are not huge garden areas. Also there isn't many 'staged areas' (for example Jerricho Terrace). CLM have a fire place, a piano, a stair case, the new chapel being built, the boat and the outdoor area.

I don't know what your taste is, but if you are going for glitsy and over the top ornate...CLM is not for you. I love it because it didn't remind me of a typical reception place. Its beautiful because of the view and its simpler design. Also the people there are great. I did not get the typical sales pitch. What I did hear from them was 'this is our place, we would love to work with you. If we can't, have a wonderful wedding day:' No pressure to book at all.

klalanne - are you considering changing your wedding location b/c i see crest hollow on your icon????

i think CLM is a great place and they do give good quotes - but it depends on the month and the day of week (may, june, july and sat are most expensive)..

I am considering changing my location after discovering this website. I see a lot of more beautiful places like, CLM, Woodlands and Westbury Manor. I kinda wished I waited before booking CH. Don't get me wrong, I love CH, but I think I want more of an intimate look. I need advise!

oohh good luck.. first i would see if you could get your deposit back from CH if you decide to change your mind..

i think the good thing about CLM and woodlands (one of my top choices) is the atmosphere - intimate and elegant.. CLM gave me a better price.. and i LOVE the windows and water...

your date is a fri next yr, right?? you would def get a good price.. call them up.. and go see it when a wedding is being set up so you can get the feel of it - it is beautiful!!

good luck

I did contact my banquet manager at CH, and she told me that I would get my deposit back when they book the room for another event. I originally booked the room for 250 guests, I changed it to 175. She said that she would have to book the room for 250 guests in order for me to get my full deposit back. Yes, my wedding is a Friday night, and I was quoted for $94 at CH. Do you think I would get it cheaper at CLM on Friday night?

if it is over a year.. it is suffolk county law that they HAVE to give you deposit back

Does $94 include tax and tip? Also what do you get with your package???

That's after tax and grat. The package includes the basics, nothing extra.

i would call the places you were considering and try to see them fri, sat, sun when a wedding getting set up..

then compare prices.. you got a good price from CH - just depends on what 'extras' you want (seafood, chocolate fountain, ice sculpture)..

Did you get a cheaper quote for your wedding this August? Only the ice sculpture is included in my package. I would like chair covers and the chocalate fountain.

On the docks at CLM and we had time so we went to Argyle park which is less than ten minutes away.

Basically CLM is a reception site on the water... it's BEAUTIFUL but there aren't really 'grounds' to take pics, which didn't bother us at all. They do have a nice waterfall in one corner of the outside deck and of course the water in the background makes for beautiful pics. We went ahead and booked Old Westbury Gardens to take pics at before the ceremony just in case it rained (they have indoor pic locations at OWG) and the grounds are gorgeous there. We also went to Venetian Shores which is a little beach about 5 mins from CLM. Your photographer should know other places around CLM to take pics if you decide to book there.

The atmosphere at CLM is just incredible! Good luck in your search.

Do you think I should stick to CH with the price or check out CLM?

I say check out CLM so you don't have any doubts about your reception place. You may go to CLM and not even like it or they may quote higher than CH.

Thanks. Do you have any other suggestions that you would like to share about the place?

Honestly, I would have gone with CLM as well, except we needed to be further out in Suffolk County because of our church location. We have alot of our corporate events there and I think it would be a great place for a wedding!
