DID ANYONE GO INTO THEIR COCKTAIL HOUR?

In order to cut down on time spent greeting the guests during our reception I wanted to go into the cocktail hour to greet some people & take quick pics. My mom thinks its a horrible idea. She thinks someone will spill food on my dress and I haven't had my cutting the cake pic or dance with my dad yet. Anyone do it/plan on do it...not do it/plan on not doing it? Why or why not?

i plan on doing it. other brides who have done it totally recommended it. i def want to get the hellos out of the way so i can enjoy my reception and maybe even get to eat!
