I just made my appt on tuesday for my trial tomorrow..my sister has fridays off and was going to go with me into Long Island..meanwhile I had two other girlfriends say that they would take off if I wanted them to go..I thought my sis was going so I told them NOt to take off. Now today my sister told me she cant make it..and she has a very good reason..I just feel stupid going in by myself. Maybe Im being a baby...I think I really wanted somone that I trusts opinion, especially since Im second guessing everythng lately. Has anyone gone alone for their trial?

Alicia- I went with my mom and let me tell you, probably was better off going alone, she was crazed! I did go for my makeup trial by myself b/c everyone else was busy. So, go for it and you can take photos so that you can show them to your sister and then you can make changes day-of. DEFINITELY take photos- i thought mine was great the day of but when the photos came back, I need some changes. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks tanbride. I will definately take pictures. My mom and other sister live in Oklahoma..I do have friends that said theyd go..but why should they take off just so I can get my hair done..it seems crazy to me. My FMIL may go..she may really enjoy being apart of that. But I may be better off going by myself..dont know if I trust her opion..shes great, but we have very different taste.

FMIL may enjoy it but I think you may be better off alone esp if you have different tastes. When I was at the salon, there were 2 other brides doing trials with no mother, sister, or anyone in sight. I think you will be fine esp since your wedding is in January and if needed, you can do a second trial.

hey alicia...i'm going alone!!! don't feel bad! well...i'm not really going alone, my FH is taking me out to LI...we live in Brooklyn and my trial is out on the Island...so he's going to take me for my appt (it's after work). I don't really drive.
I don't want him to see me done up...so when he comes back for me...I may throw something over my head and I'll have taken my veil off. I know it sounds silly...but it's the only way I can get out there for a trial.

Franksbride - I live in NJ and my wedding is on LI and my FI was at my parents house when I came back from my trial - I was thinking of wearing a hankerchif on my head when I got home too -that's so funny! But I didn't , just took off my tiara since one the day of the wedding, with the dress, veil, tiara and makeup you will still look completely different and more beautiful than at the trial .

I feel stupid taking pictures of myself..I dont mind doing anything else by myself..I just wanted a friend there for opinions..Im a wreck these days. I did howvere decide FINALLY on style..I just hope it will look good on me!

actually..it's a good thing to go in by yourself sometimes. if your sister or friends have different opinions on how your hair should look or will look once it's done, you won't be bombarded with them all at once. i personally would rather go alone, because I know what I want and I don't want any opinions other than the hairdresser's. Then again, she is a friend of mine and so I won't feel like I'm bored or anything since we chat all the time when I'm there.
Bring a magazine or read one there....you'll have some quiet time (if you don't know the girl that well and she's busy working on your hair).
Please post pics of your trial if you have pics taken!!

alicia, have the stylist take the pictures!
actually my hairdresser has her own camera there and her own albulm to show people that come in for updos if they are not sure what they want or can't explain it well for her.

Sure Teejay..I am going to laurie at Millenia. It is right by teh Claremont..you coudl walk to it if ya wanted. My sister had a trial with her and I had my trial with someone else..and we relly liked Laurie. So im going in just to see what we can come up with. She doesnt do full on Updo's, she has another girl for that..but I want something messy. I will definately let you know how it goes. Its a nice salon and she is very nice..so I am hoping it will all work out!

I am soooooooo going alone.... my mom always makes fun of the way i do my hair for an event... Its curly and I always leave curls out.. I wanna make my own decision... I know how brian loves my hair.... based upon that and being comfy is gonna decide my fate... :o) Be excited!!! Good luck!

oh thats funny! My hair is curly and I know I want it blown out no matter what. Im actually excited to just get there and see how Ill look. I may still bring my FMIL..but that is probably just aksing for trouble.

I went alone just last night and was totally comfortable with it. Personally, I am the one who has to like it and who needs so many different opinions.
