did anyone NOT have people cancel the week before?

final count due tomorrow, so trying to figure how many i should take off...

I am going to probably give 2 or 4 less - I have heard too many stories. no need to pay for no-shows. I would rather the place add a seat if need be

within the last week we had 5 people cancel ...... its so annoying when we gave our final count in last night and now 2 more cancel

i didnt have any no shows but 2 did cancel the day before cuz the husband had food poisoning

We only had one no-show. It was my godfather's girlfriend, and he told me that night that she was sick and couldn't make it.

I had two other couples that told me the day before that they weren't going to make it. One was sick and the other was from OOT and couldn't get a car to drive out here.

Yes, one we kind of knew that she wasn't going to make it ahead of time. There was a 50% chance bc she is pregnant and on bed rest. That was fine.

The other pissed me off. It was a +1 of one of our guests and he just didn't show up w/ her - no explanation

ETA: If I were you i would just not include yourself and FH in the headcount.

paid for 98, had 103. was never charged.

We had about 10 ppl cancel within the 2 weeks before the wedding, and 2 ppl suddenly able to attend the week of. We were under our minimum :(

Work backwards from the last day you can ADD people. Tell them your 'final count' when it's due, but subtract some names. Then when the last day to add people comes around, see how many you have and give them the 'revised count'.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm not paying for no-shows if I can help it.

I submitted 4 under and it worked out perfect. You can always add chairs the day of...

We had 3 people that never RSVP'd and when they were called out the week before my MIL was told 'Oh of course we'll be there!' BS. I didn't count them. I wish I didn't count more because we had 1 'toothache', 2 'the baby sitter canceled', 2 'wife and baby sick' and 1 tuck in NC because of Hurricaine Earl. 6 total no shows! :(

I say tell them 5 less. Pick out people who you think might flake out. Then pluck them off the table. Remember, you can just say 5 less, it also has to be reflected in the table seating chart thing.
