Did anyone see the movie OPEN WATER?

Original post by jozieb0925

What did you think? dh and I rented it last night..I was not really digging it, but I thought that it was sad that something like that really happened.

I told dh that I would never go scuba diving after watching it..

I enjoyed the movies. Scary to think that that really happened. My hubby and I decided never to go scuba diving after we saw that.

Someone tell me what happened? Did they die?

I think that they do. I have not seen the movie, but I believe that the actual couple is presumed dead.

This is an article about the actual event and couple invoved. Just in case you are interested.

thank you! I had heard about the suicide rumor, and always wondered if there was any truth to it....

OMG! I HATED the movie! It was just too sad at the end! I know it's based on a true story but I wanted a happy ending!

It is based on a true story that took place in Australia. DH and I saw the documentary about the real case before the movie so it seemed extra creepy to me - but I did not like how the movie just abruptly ended at all!

DH and I have decided that we're never going on any excursions when we go on vacation from now on...after that movie.

i thought it was interesting. i mean, it was simple but it wasn't hollywood. you couldn't expect excitement b/c it wasn't a hollywood script but based on real life. nothing is going to be super exciting, but also nothing is more frightening. what a way to go

I thought it was okay, but wasn't a huge fan. DH absolutely HATED it. He kept saying 'I thought this was an ACTION movie'

I saw it and I left the theatre swearing like a truck driver. I felt like I was jipped at the end.
