FH was a little annoyed I booked our RH without him being there, so I've been dragging him to various appointments and DJ showcases to gauge his reaction on what he likes/wouldn't like...
How many brides here have booked vendors with FHs by their side? or do you actually book them without telling FH ? My FH doesnt seem to care and says as long as they show up, its fine..but sometimes I wonder whether I need to involve him more in my vendor selection? what are you ladies doing ?

FH has gone willingly with me to all of the vendors, but I also put in hours of research beforehand to narrow each area down to 2-3 vendors, and I was pretty easygoing and relaxed in making the final choices with him -- which is why I think he was okay with going. I'm sure if I dragged him to lots of RH's and vendors, and I started to ridiculously nit-pick he would start to become overwhelmed! He was actually pretty articulate and 'into' the vendors that we visited, so overall I think it's been a good experience.
The only thing I did w/o him was the invitations (besides of course the drss). He came with me to narrow the invitation choices down, but I could see he was overwhelmed, so I went back w/ my mom to make the final choices, and then just checked in w/ him before okaying the order.

FH has been there for each vendor meeting; right done to the DOC. I've even asked him to be the main contact for the DJ and Photog/Videographer; which he was fine with. But I was the one who did all the research for everything also.
I know FH doesn't care about everything for the wedding but I still ask him because I don't want him to get upset that I'm making decisions without him. I send him so many emails that I doubt he ever opens but at least I try so he can't say I didn't tell him.
I think if you are both putting your money towards this wedding he should meet with the vendors before you decide to sign a contract.

FH doesnt care but he came to see every vendor.
Even the florist was surprised...he told FH no other FHs show up for the flowers!

The only things we did separately were tuxes (he went by himself), seat covers (he did this on a day I was at work) and makeup/hair/dress stuff for me.
DH and I paid for this wedding and I can't imagine him wanting to pay for stuff without meeting the people he was giving money to - but that is very much the way he is. Very involved and was actually the main contact for all of our vendors.

With the exception of the makeup artist and hairdresser, FH has been with me to every vendor appointment. He wants to be there. I show him everything that I want to do and he gives me his opinion. I don't want to do anything without him because its his wedding too.

FH and I booked everything together except the DJ and flowers. He was furious when I booked the DJ without him but if I worked at his pace I still would not have DJ. LOL!

We've booked the RH hall together. For invitations, I found a bunch that I liked and then I asked him for his opinion and the one he chose was the one we went with. I got his input on favors as well. Even though he won't be using the limo (I'm getting ready at my mom's house and the ceremony is at the reception hall where he is spending the night prior to the wedding) I'll probably bring him with me.

FH so far has been there with me for all the RH interviewing and deciding...i had to do photographer alone since FH was still at school and I'll prob have to do DJs and flowers alone since FH will be at home in PR over most of the holidays...it's ok though since he doesnt really mind either way and my parents are paying for most of the vendors.

we picked the RH, the photographer, the videographer, the cake, and the officiant together. i did coordinator, dj, dress, hair, make-up, florist, invitations, and favors alone.

i have him with me for evertyhing, first off he wants to be there and help plan but secondly i think its important to remind vendors that theyll have more than just a *whiny woman* to deal with if they screw up...

Yea he came with me when we booked RH, too look at photographers and to book the band. He wants to be involved in all of it.

FH tells me to do whatever i think is best when it comes to booking vendors... but most vendors want both our names on the contract so he has come for all vendor contract signings.. i wouldnt actually book anything without his ok anyways... but he hasnt come to all meetings... only the ones i felt were worth it!

DH came with me to the halls, the photographers and the officiant
i went with my mom to do the flowers.
Limo's and DJ by myself, but then i made DH come w/ me to book the DJ.

FH wants to do everything with me.. which is good because it's hard for me to make decisions... we make better decisions as a team and we both agree with wedding should be a team effort... in fact, I think he's even more concerned about certain details than I am... if not for FH I would have had a much smaller, much more simple wedding, so it's good that he's interested or he'd be getting nothing he wanted.

FH is a little overwhelmed by all of this - cant' understand why we just cant serve cake and punch at the church after the wedding, lol.
So, I've been doing most of it. I do a lot of research and then run it by him. We did the RH together and the church (we had to find a different one than ours b/c it wasn't available). He stopped on his lunch break to look at the church and I looked at a separate time.
I did the photographer. I did the invites, but had him narrow down the word choice.
I did flowers, colors, videographer ...basically he is fine w/ whatever.
I did the music (we aren't doing a dj - just renting equipment and a plug in ipod - my nephew is MCing)
I know he will be involved in planning the ceremony and the flow of the reception.
He sort of is leaving all of it to me, which I am OK w/. He is working on the marriage aspect and preparing for our future, so I would rather him put his energy there.
