Hey girls. I'm not a frequent poster but everyone always seems to have such good advice on here. When FH and I booked our hall we really didn't know anything about the process so we didn't try and get them to throw in any extras or talk the price down. Now I'm regretting not even trying hearing how so many people got free extras. Just wondering if anyone was able to get their RH to throw in extras close to their wedding date.

We were able to get an ice scuplture thrown in...but that was when we booked. At this point, you're already booked....i doubt you'll be able to get anythign extra. They already have your business, so you dont have any negotiating room.

Actually we got things thrown in when booking but we went there a couple of months ago and told them were going over our minimum and inquired about other extras and they threw them in too.

its hard to get free stuff thrown in when you've already committed to a contract - but it doesn't hurt to try and ask.

i actually heard from another bride on here that it's easier to add upgrades after you've booked. not that you'd get them thrown in for free, but that you could add them at a lesser price. she told me they do this because now that they have you locked in for that date, the only way they're going to make additional money off you is if they meet your price requirements. i think they example she gave was they told her the lowest they could do for viennese before booking was $12/head and then a few months before the wedding they let her add viennese for $8/head.

they didn't throw in anything extra food-wise, but they did throw in FREE valet parking for us the day of which was great considering it was cold and icy.

some halls throw in extras if you go over your guaranteed minumum by a certain amount.
We guaranteed 180 guests, but had 236 guests. Our hall gave us 2 extra stations and a martini bar at the cocktail hour.
