Did you have....

an engagment party? How long after you got engaged did you have the party? I would like to have one but my family said it 's too late. We got engaged on Christmas eve. My FH's Mom has been in the hospital since early January and will be realeased sometime in May. I thought we could have one over the summer when she is well again. What do you think, is it too late?

Yes we are having an e-party this July. We got engaged June 23, 2005 (it will be one year this June 23rd). We are having a long engagement because my older sister got engaged right after us and since she is older and wants to start a family right away (plus to make it fair to our family and so we can have our own 'moments') she is going this year and we are 2007 (we knew this from the beginning)...

It is absolutely not too late and you should do what you want!! You only get married once so you should go all out not to mention the gifts that you will be receiving and how much that helps you and your FH as a new couple (household needs and a lot of times any money you get goes toward the wedding)...

It's DEFINITELY not too late!! HTH, good luck and remember, you don't have to make it a mini-wedding. You can do a nice, low-key luncheon or sit-down dinner at a Restaurant. We are having ours at Tellers in Islip! Take care.

I did not have one and we aren't going to, but my friend got engaged on Thanksgiving and her engagement party was March 4. I also know someone who had gotten engaged in the winter of 2004 and didn't have their engagement party until the following summer.

we had a memorial day party the weekend after our engagement which I didnt know was an engagement party hehe. nothing formal cause we didnt want one. we are moving out of the state after the wedding and want to move a lot of stuff

Unfortunitly we did not have one FMIL didnt think it was a good idea......but I dont think its ever to late so go right ahead and enjoy yourself............

I had my party about 2 months after we were engaged.

We got engaged on X-mas Eve and our E-party is 6/24/06.

I don't think its too late but I kind of know how you feel...
We got engaged on December 3rd and decided right away not to have one but I kind of wish we were having something casual just to celebrate!

No it's not too late at all!! We had ours in Feb. and we got engaged in October! You can even do it this summer!!!

We got engaged August 19, 2005 and our e-party will be this year August 26th

I got engaged at the end of January. I'm planning on having one in late June or early July.

Definitely not too late. We still have not had one because FH is in Iraq...so we'll probably have a low key one here at home,and a low key one in NY.

We got engaged Feb. 20 but our engagement party is June 17. I think an engagement party is only late if your wedding is less than six months away.

I didn't have one, but I have been engaed for a few year.

Tell your family it's definatly NOT too late for you to have one!

I had one about 6 months after we got engaged. We just had it in my backyard - rented tents. It was really nice!
