We are trying to decide if we should just have a brunch/ dinner or if we should also have a dj.

I think it depends on where you have it and how many people. We didn't b/c it was at my house and we only had like 30 ppl.

We had about 70 people and we did like a beach theme so my MOH just made a few CD's with summer kind of music on it and some other stuff mixed in and it worked out great.

We rented out a VFW like place had 100 people and had a dj. My party would have been boring w/out it

We had a dj b/c we were at a Sons of Italy hall with over 100 pp. It was a blast!

I didn't have a e-party, but my sister did and she had a guy playing guitar - very different and very cool!

We did a backyard thing so we did not have a dj. We just put some cd's in and set up the surround sound so it was playing in the backyard. Worked out great for us!!

we had our engagement party at my house. we burned about 8 cds of todays music to 90s music and 80s music. everyone loved it.

We did our's in my parents backyard and had a D.J. About 80-90 people were there.

We had about 50 people in a private room at a restaurant. we didn't want anything too huge. The place had speakers throughout the room and we jsut used that. It was more of a meet and greet, than a big bash. It is really your preference. We lucked out b/c a really great band was playing there the same night and it was like a free after party.

We had about 100 people, but it was in my backyard so I just put a playlist on my Ipod and hooked it up to some speakers.

We're not just to keep some costs down...a friend of ours is going to play guitar for an hour and he is going to play classical music...so that should be nice. Then we are bringing our ipods and playing that for the remainder of the party...my party is next Sunday...can't wait!!!
A co-worker of ours has his own DJ set up and did our e-aprty for us for free. We gave him a nice tip. If he didn't do it for us I think I would have hired someone, because the room in the firehouse was big and we needed something loud enoguh.
