LAST NIGHT I HAD MY ENGAGEMENT PICS WITH PATKEN- IT WAS ON SITE AND THEY TOOK THEM FOR FREE BUT ONLY TOOK 12 PICS OF US BOTH TOGEHTER - THEY GAVE US 2 FOR FREE BUT I HAD TO ASK FOR THE SECOND ONE. I FEEL CHEATED DID YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR OFF-SITE ENGAGEMENT PICTURES AND DID YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PROOFS? HOW MUCH ?

My engagement pics are part of my photo package as were all the proofs and negatives. We get all photos taken at the hour long shoot.

Duet included them in my package and we could pick the place.
They gave us about 90 pictures as well

Our engagment pictures were free with our package. Bob, from Velvet, took about 60-90 photos of us then emailed them to us.

I am using Patken myself. When we signed with Patken they told me that I would get one free picture of my choice from our engagement photo session.
When we went for them, I got a free pic and I brought the other.
If these were wedding photo's, I would be more upset but it is just an engagement photo shoot.

hmm i think you should call them if they didnt make it clear to you
Nadire made it VERY clear to me what the engagement shoot consisted of - she even repeated it a few times so i knew what i was getting, we are going in a few months to actually have the shoot -
i was happy with the arrangement since FH does not want to take e pics - this was kind of a compromise!
if he lets me, i will book an off site shoot after we take the mini shoot - but i dont think that will be necessary!

i would compare the price you are paying to some of the other places...maybe they are paying more money in the long run and thats why they are getting more pics...just a suggestion..
i didnt even realize that places included e-pics! i just thought everyone who has been posting them have been getting them done separately. i always thought they looked really nice, but figured i would not be able to afford the extra $. now i feel like i should start looking at photographers soon! i was actually interested in pattken b/c i think they are near my RH and have a nice indoor studio if it rains (so i have heard). anyway, i hope all goes well

Did you not discuss this when you booked with them? Was it in the contract? There is really nothing you can do if that is their policy. I actually met with Patken and they told me the engagement pictures were taken in the studio and you only get like 2 pictures and you pay if you want more or if you want to go to a location, you have to pay as well.

Yeah patken was pretty clear with me that their policy was they would do a shoot with you and you would get one included and anything more than that you would have to pay for... e pics arent a big deal to me so i was fine with that.

We added them on-they are taking tons of E-pics and our videographer Pat is coming to shoot some footage to go on our wedding video. We get all of the proofs-It is $500, but we really want them, and since our photogrpaher, Dan Saviano was already reasonable, we were able to afford them.

PATKEN WAS CLEAR ON HOW MANY PICS WE WERE GOING TO RECIEVE BUT THEN IT ONLY TOOK 10 MINUTES THE WHOLE SHOOT AND I DIDN'T EVEN LIKE THE PHOTOGRAPHER I MEAN WHY SHOULD I AS WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY JACKET AND POCKETBOOK- I'M PAYING OVER 6,000 FOR THEM THE LEAST THEY COULD DO WAS NOT RUSH THE SHOOT

well then that is a different story - if you dont like the photographer then you get another e-shoot - the purpose of the shoot is to find a photographer you are comfortable with - that way he gets used to you and you get used to him before the big day!
I would call and ask for another shoot with a different photgrapher

Ditto. They explained that you get one photo free with the session and I decided to purchase a CD that contained all of the shots that were taken.
