We met online. After some emails and phone calls we decided to meet. The night I left my apartment to meet him for the first time for a drink, I said to my cat 'I'm going to go meet my husband now!'

I was seeing a couple of guys and then i met him, and after the first date with him i never called the others back...knew it from day one!!

No didnt know I actually was so not interested in him the night i met him!!! It ends up he told one of his friends that his friend had to go home becuz FH was going to be with me and noone else had a chance In the end i gave FH my number (after he bought me 8 chocolate martinis!!) and we didnt stop talking after that.....

ooo and it took him 9 months to make me his girlfriend! he used to tell me this is only a summer thing and i would tell him hes crazy to think that.

look at us now!!! so much for a summer thing

hahahhaha noooooo I told myself he wasnt the one b/c I was sick of getting hurt. I even broke up with him for a day, but that day was the longest day of mylife it was that pont on that I knew he was the one for me

Not at all!! FH and I were good friends for a few years before hand and I never saw him as anything other than a friend.... I even turned him down like 5 times when he asked me out b/c I got so hurt in previous relationships..... Evenutally I gave in and we went on a date and that was when I knew he was the one!

Yup. Our friends set us up and as soon as I turned around to look at him and say hi, I knew I was done. It was an amazing feeling. Later on in our relationship he said he felt the same thing when he saw me.

I am really happy you posted this. I am having a really bad day and your question just made me think about FH and how things worked out.

we met when we were 13 at his father's karate school. but he was too cool, so we didnt talk until we were 15. we became friends but eventually stupidly lost touch (I lost his phone # and I was too embarrassed to ask his father to give it to me, and he would always leave me voice messages on the 'beeper' ...without re-stating his #)
Anyway, 2 years later we both quit karate around the same time. FH left his house and I got lazy.

When I was 22 I decided I wanted to finish what I started and get my black belt. When I returned and saw his father (my sensei), he said to me 'OH, remember my son Gus? Well tomorrow is his first day back ! What a coincidense!'

a few months passed and we somehow ended up at the same club one night. WEIRD.
after a few hours he said 'werent we friends before? didnt I like you?' ... I had no idea he did.
thats when it clicked that when I stopped calling him, he prob. felt 'dissed' ....meanwhile I had no idea. Anyway, thats when we kissed.....and it was MAGIC.

We've had our ups and downs and god only knows it wasnt easy getting here, but things are great now and looking back at how things played out, I def. know we were meant to be.

in the end I got the black belt and the boy! LOL.

To add to the creepiness: Last month he was throwing away stuff when he found his 'black book' that he's had since FOREVER.... He called me up and said 'I found my black book, You are on page 1 ' I told him to look on the last page, and my name was there as well with my current #. So I told him, see? I told you it was meant to be, the black book started with me and ended with me....

freakin' weird!!!!

i knew the relationship felt different. i did think, 'wow, what if end up like...marrying this guy?' i thought it was just me being a hopeless romantic though, lol.

Not at first. We first met my second semester freshmen year of college. One of the guys he was friends with from high school was friends with all the guys I was friends with because we all lived in the same dorm. So we would see each other and hang out but I dont' think i even knew his first name (everyone called him by his last name) for about a year!! Then my senior year he lived with three of my really good guy friends - one of which I had a thing with. Well needless to say the kid broke my heart and then left school. While I was picking up the pieces FH was there as a really good friend who listened. Four of us went out one night and he actually started holding my hand in the car and I was like 'wow no one has ever done that' but nothing happended right away. When we finally did hook up for the first time I told him that I would be weird and not know how to act. I was afraid that he wasn't going to want anything relationship wise and I would get hurt so i didn't talk to him for like a week. He still likes to bring that up Then when I realized he was serious... well the rest is history. We got engaged our on 7 year anniversary and have been living together for 6 years already. He's the first person I have ever truly loved

I didn't know FH was the 1 but FH knows that I was the one for him....Hehe.

I thought it was just another fling but five years later we can't believe that we are getting marry. Very happy and wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

No not at first. We met for the first time in college in 1994 and I was dating someone else and not really thinking about the 'one'. We reconnected in 2006 and with in a couple of dates I was pretty sure that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

to be honest not really.. i have known fh since middle school (we lived in the same town in queens and were in the same school and same portuguese community so everyone in this community whos portuguese basically knew each other). to make a veryyyyy loooong story short we became very close (actually more like bestfriends) because he started to come around and hangout with my group of friends witch some of the guys happend to be good friends with him already so.. so we became best friends for years and he always wanted to date me but i never wanted to as i would always tell my friends cause i was afraid we would than mess up our friendship cause we had such a great friendship and i didnt want to ruin that! :) my friends kept annoying me and telling me just to give the guy a chance and see what happens and so i just said ok hell with it fine, lol.. we started just fooling around (nothing serious) for a while, maybe 2 years and than at 17 is when we made is oficial and became serious! i was only 17 so i couldnt really say he was going to be the guy i am marrying, who knew! i did have a great feeling and was very glad i gave him a chance cause now 10 years later he will be my husband! i knew from the begening he was a GREAT guy.. friends always told me 'watch that is it you two are gonna get married'.. and they were right!

Not when we first met but by the end of our first date. FH use to live in the apartment directly above me and he was a pretty noisy neighbor. I actually use to complain about him all of the time EVERYONE knew him as Vermont (his car use to have VT plates) my annoying neighbor. WHen my ex and I broke up and he (the ex) moved out I could not afford my apartment on my own long term so I gave my landlord notice. He told my neighbor (FH) that me and the ex broke up and it was 'A pretty bad situation'. The next day Fh and I were stuck in the hall together and we started to talk. He asked if he could take a look at my apartment b/c it was bigger than his and of course I said yes. We talked for hours during the conversation I actually told him that I was through with relationships...he helped me move out a few week later and asked me out on our first date. I only went on the date b/c my MOM forced me to I GUESS IT IS JUST ANOTHER LESSON IN WHY I SHOULD LISTEN TO MY MOM!!
