I hate to say this, but I'm sure he doesn't have them anymore. I could be wrong though. I gave my FH a card once when were dating and after he read it he threw it in the garbage right infront of me!!!!! needless to say, he dug it out and put it on display when he saw my face. but I'm sure it was trash after I left.

men!

that is so the thing - i want to be mad but he seriously doesn't understand! he just doesn't get it. oh and the other thing he never does is the 'flowers on a non-occasion'. he just doesn't understand the concept of buying me flowers unless it is Vday or an anniversary.

Re: Did you make a big deal out of...

We didn't make a BIG big deal out of it, but that was mainly poor scheduling. Since I work days and he works nights it was kinda hard to celebrate together.

We met for lunch and since it was a Friday, we only had an hour break. So we stopped at McDonald's, not the most romantic place but it didn't matter to me, I just wanted to be with him.

We didn't do cards or gifts, but he said 'Happy whatever today is supposed to be called', so I know he remembered. And I said Happy One Year Mark.

We had a cookie that was shaped like a wedding cake, so when he got home from work we broke the cookie and ate it. It was almost midnight, but it still counted!! It was sweet!!!!!!

FH and I didn't exchange cards or gifts, we were saving money for our house.

My Mom did call really early in the morning to wish me a happy one year to go, which was really nice.

I really didn't want anything just a card...just because I love cards and I am sentimental

I can understand that. It would have been sweet. But dont be angry at him. You know men dont get nearly as giddy over all this stuff as we do. Thats why we all share all our silly stories on here

Yes.

We went to dinner and ate LOBSTER in honor of our 'wedding meal' for next year.

No presents or anything, but we marked the occasion!

He called me at the time that we'll be saying 'I Do' - but no cards or hoopla from either of us.

We talked about it being only one year to the wedding but we didn't do anything special. We do celebrate the anniversary of our first date by going to the restaurant where we went for dinner and that is coming up this weekend- it will be 2 years so I'm excited about that.

We had a nice dinner to mark the date - the next day we went to the hall to see what the flowers looked like....but we didn't do gifts.

Hmm... For my 1-year to the wedding day (Aug 26) I'll be in Atlantic City and he will be in Canada for his cousin & his cousins fioncee's bachelor/bachelorette parties, so I dont think we will be doing anything special at all.

Dont feel bad Kathleen.. My FI isnt big on this either.

I did - I called and fax Z100 a thousand times to play a song and say in the anniversary's in the am our almost anniversary-- I was so upset because they did not do it -- and FH could not even get the radio station in clear at the house-- he bought me 12roses and had them sent to my office the card reading 'happy almost anniversary'

My FH is so good he gives me cards for every occasion and he is so much better with words than me. I have a beautifull box that I've saved every card to concert ticket to those little sentimental things. He is the same. We look at them together every once in a while. Things like that are more important to me than some piece of jewelry. This is why the wedding photographer is So important.
