Did you pay for your bridesmaids...

Im not sure what I pay for for my bridsmaids. Did you pay for their dresses, make up and hair, etc?

I paid for their dresses and will pay for make-up. They are on their own for hair....except for my MOH- I'm paying for her.

I'm going to try to pay for makeup. I think it's generally known that as a BM you're supposed to pay for your own dress and usually your hair too.

Thanks. Im having them pay for their dresses but I guess I should pay for their hair and makeup. I just dont want to spend so much money on hair and makeup.

I didnt require hair and make up.. I didnt require set shoes.. (just had to be black)..

so they got a really great gift for being a BM at the rehersal dinner, they were treated to a luncheon with me twice during the planning.. so no I didn't pay for anything extra.

I paid for their hair and make up. I asked them to take care of the tips based on how they like their hair & MU.

I'd love to pay for their hair and makeup, but I'm not sure if it'll be in the budget. If I can't pay for it, I'm not going to require that they get it done. I think they probably will anyway, but if they can't I'm not going to stress about it. None of them have a TON of money, so if I can't pay for it, I don't want to put them out.

I'm getting them a gift and will hopefully be able to buy their jewelry. I have 11 of them so it will get a bit expensive.

I'm paying for their manis/pedis and I'm giving them a gift at the RD.

Has anyone been confronted by a bridesmaid that cant afford to pay? I mean i dont want to upset anyone because they cant afford to dish out all the money, but at the same time they accepted being a bridesmaid and knew what it entailed. my worst fear is a bridesmaid calling me out on all the expenses haha

I'm paying for half of their hair, and got them reeeal nice gifts. I have a rather large BP so that's all I was able to do. LOL

yes i am :) i wanted to do this because they are chosen to be part of my bridal party for a special reason.. so i figure i'll do and provide everything for them ;)

Typically, they pay their own way and part of yours. The bride usually buys them a nice gift of appreciation, their day of jewelry and pay for the RD. I was the MOH for my friend and she paid for our hair to be done as well. Otherwise, that is not common practice. I have been a BM 8 times over and we usually get the RD, DOJ and a gift. Which is very nice....I would want to be there for them anyway. HTH

You know....this is why I bought the dresses for my girls. No one has complained about them and was was zero drama. Also, depending on what you have in mind you can get them really cheap. I am paying for make-up because my dresses were only $27....they retail for $200 at Ann Taylor but I got a great sale. Go recession! lol.
