Did your FH go with you to register?

Ok ladies - here's the deal, how many of you had your FH with you to register? My guy absolutely DISPISES shopping. its like pulling teeth to get him to shop even for clothes for himself.....soo, i'm having a mini battle with him now to get him to go. I've tried the 'they have a cool scanner for you to play with' ' what about beer mugs etc...' nothings working - so i'm wondering...did you have your FH with you? is it common that guys don't want to go? I feel like the gifts are for BOTH of us so he should be there...but he just says 'honey you are so good with this stuff you should do it'

what do you think?

He is so excited and he can't wait to register for a really great knife set and we both love to cook so he is excited to get all new fancy pots, a wok, BBQ stuff and all kitchen gadgets.......

FH was looking forward to it too and really helped with picking everything out. Basically anytime you tell FH were gonna show ppl a bunch of things to buy us, then he'll be there lol

me and FH went he really didnt want to go .. but he wanted some 500 vacum and he wanted to pick out the sheets, (which we didnt even do when we went) so i said if he wanted that stuff he had to come ... ... i let him control the gun so it gave him something to do ... plus if he didnt come he wouldnt of gotten the coffee makeer here wanted and the espresso maker ... i just had to edit the registry when we got home cause he liked to scan things we didnt need!!!

OOOPS! i meant most respones not all of them

im just surprised b/c i thought that registering would be one of the more fun things for the groom to do.....i dont know, maybe my FH is weird - we are equally involved with the wedding and planning and we like to do everything together so maybe that is why we are so excited to register....we are waiting until it gets close though so we have something to look foward to next summer.....my FH loves kitchen stuff but he has very expensive taste when it comes to that stuff - he wants the best of the best pots and knives and seriously they are

FH hates shopping as well, but he loved going to register. i think cause he got to use the scanner.

my FH loves shopping and scanning tons of things for others to buy for you was great for him lol...I am the one who hates shopping so honestly if he didn't go i would'nt have lol...the only reason i liked it is bc fh and i were having fun when we were doing it

Yes, we went together to Macys, Fortunoffs and BBB but now I'm updating online..

Same here, FH is more of the cook in the house, so he is so excited to go and register! He keeps asking if we can put a food processor on the registry. I think its cute

I am in the same boat as you guys. FH was really looking forward to it and we had fun. I had to go armed with snacks though -- when FH needs to eat he needs to eat so I had to keep his energy up. And I didn't get annoyed once when he needed a cigarette break -- usually i get mad when he leaves me places to go smoke. We did it a few times and want to go to one place. I find him adding things online too!

FH & I went together to all 3 stores we are registered. We didn't complete any though and I knew when he was getting restless, time to go. I have been adding stuff online after- which is great. I would ask him to go just for the initial if he really can't stand it. It may be more fun than he thinks!!!

I couldn't wait for him. I registered online. Then like three months later I dragged him to BBB because HE is the one who cooks, not me. I wanted to make sure he was cool with what I picked. He added some items to the list and after a bit he got anxious so we left. Ha ha!

The wedding is almost 3 months away and we still havent registered. He wants to come but he never makes time for it.

I'm just going to copy what I wrote on our BHB post just in case you don't check it:

I actually did it all by myself online. I had the whole thing done at all 3 places online and only just went last week to one of the stores in person because I wanted to feel the bedding and towels. FH didn't care and I didn't need to him care. He really didn't need to be there, I think we all have this romantic 'idea' in our heads that all of our FHs will want to take part in this activity but that's not usually the case and they really don't need to be a part of it. If he's putting up a fight, this is one of those pick your battles situations where I think it's not worth it to force him. Honestly, it's just household items. Pick what you want, he'll be fine. Have fun!!!!

we did go together and we had a really good time. FH tried scanning me and putting me on the registry but I had no barcode. It was fun!

We did both of our registries (BBB and Fortunoff's) together on two seperate days and we had a great time doing it. Both time we kinda just took the day and hung out, I treated him to breakfast and lunch and he treated me to dinner.

We thought it was exciting/fun picking out stuff to use after we get married and we actually live together! We both live at home right now.

So yea, it worked out well!
