your parents for your hand in marriage? I am just curious, because mine forgot to haahaa and now he feels like he messed up. I told him its not a big deal.

My FH did call my parents and ask before he asked me to marry him. They live in PA but I thought it was nice he called.

Yes a few days before and he only spoke to my dad because he knew my mom would give it away

he also spoke about marriage to my dad b4 he passed away...3 yrs ago. & i didn't know till recently from my mom. so i thought that was very sweet bc we had some bumps on the road

My FH didn’t ask, and that was fine with all involved. I actually think it would never occur for him to ask…I remember he was aghast at the idea of my dad walking me down the aisle and giving me away. Kept saying “But he doesn’t own you!” In all fairness, he is from Sweden and there the couple walks in together. So I personally don’t think it’s a huge boo-boo if he didn’t ask.

Yeah, I think as long as your family is okay with it, you don’t need to worry about what other girl’s FH’s did or did not do.

YES... FH asked my grandparents (who are like parents)... Actually, this was part of the proposal that when he was about to ask me (FH brought me to a certain spot and got me to look at this picture book he made, that I thought was for Valentine's day the next day) then he showed me this picture and a picture of my ring- then I realized what was happening and started crying, he got down on one knee... etc. He's a wonderful FH!!

i already knew he was proposing eventually so i was in the house when he asked my dad about a month before but i wasnt in the room to see how it went.
