Did your proposal come right on time, or did you.....

feel like you were waiting forever?

I have been with my guy for almost a decade, while I wasn't ready for marriage right away, the year before we got engaged was torture. I always knew it would happen but I started to get ansy.

What about the rest of you?

Mine came early! Totally surprised, I thought MAYBE we'd be getting engaged this month...but we did it back in March!

Total surprise. I figured we would have gotten engagaed around now or sometime next year. I didn't expect it last June.

Mine was a total surprise.. we both new we were it for each other, but didn't know when we'd make it official.

Mine came some what as a surprise. We we traveling to Florida so I knew it would be there since we were staying in South Beach, But he had other plans like on the plane in front of 200 passengers! Oh he even had the pilot do it so everyone knew I could have died I was so surprised I couldnt even talk

what felt like waiting forever but mine was a total surprise, i thought it would have been a few months after it happened because we had just bought a house!! He Got me

Mine felt right on time. Okay maybe it was starting to feel like forever. We have been a couple for almost 8 years but I only graduated college and got a real job last year so before that I would not have been ready. We went to Paris last February and I though for sure he would have done it there, then we were in Lake George this summer (our favorite place on earth) and I thought for sure it was coming there, I even went through his luggage in both places. It finally happened on a weekend trip to Boston on the nine year anniversary of the day we met! It was amazing and truly worth waiting for, I was kind of expecting it, but when it happened I was still shocked and speechless.

I'm not there yet, but it'll be soon though because we're going to look at rings. He knows I'm chomping at the bit to start my planning and I know he's not going to be mean and make me wait very long before he proposes! So I would say mine will be right on time.......

Don't get me wrong, I was totally surprised and shocked when it finally happened, but the year when I became ready leading up to the time when it happened was somewhat toturesome(if that is a word)

mine was late!

I suspected it was coming for awhile and it took longer than expected. (after the fact I learned he wanted to propose in the winter but had difficulty finding a jeweler to make the ring he designed, so it didn't get done on time.) He proposed in June.

I thoought it took forever, although I got cold feet when I found out he was ordering the ring the 1st time and I broke up with him. Guess it was my fault it took so long. Oh well thats why Im Wacky

lisat, something similar happened to me, I found out.

My Fh was supposed to propose in Dec of 2001, however he gave me a cruise for Xmas and it was more than he wanted to spend and he did not have the money for an e-ring, and he did not want to short change me so he waited until June on our anniversary to propose.

Seems like I waited forever and a day !!!!! I'd say it was a few months late, we started planning before the ring came, but when it did, it was soooo worth it !!!!!!

It felt like forever (7 years) but when it happened it was a suprise. I thought he was going to propose when we vacationed in Florida a month later.

Just wanted to add that after he proposed on Nov. 23d, he told me he had the ring since August but was waiting for the perfect time! He liked the idea of doing it on the day we met in 1993. In the end, I am glad he waited but I can't believe he had the ring since August!!!!!!!

It seemed like it took forever (it was 3.5 years), but when he finally proposed (in December 2000), it came as a total shock. I had actually convinced myself he would never propose, that's why it was so shocking. We got engaged under the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Centre in front of a million people. It was prefect. We planned a 17 month engagement so we could be married on our 5 year anniversary.

I was surprised on the day he did it, but if he would have done it a few months before I would have been REALLY surprised. We had ben talking about it for a few months so I kind of expected it.

mine was supposed to be last xmas, instead it was last september in aruba
