Did You/Will You use your DJ or CD music for your ceremony?

Did You/Will You use your DJ or CD music for your ceremony?

I dont know what to do. We are having a male soloist and an organist/pianist for our wedding. I've always wanted the sound of violins playing Pachelbel Canon in D at my wedding. Should I have a cd playing for this? Does that sound cheesy? Should I just have the pianist do it? Will that sound okay? Or should I spend 450 bucks for a string quartet. I don't know!!!

I'd say go with a cd or at least have the pianist play it first and see if it meets your approval

who would play the cd? Doesn't that sound like something that's done in a backyard wedding? I don't want to insult anyone who IS using a cd for the ceremony... I just want to make sure I'm not the only one that would do it. I don't want it to appear 'cheap'.

it's much less expensive to have the pianist play if u want live music.
we're just having a pianist.

fh's cousin is having a whole orchestra....

We used a CD. Some people just prefer to hear particular recordings of a piece. There's nothing cheap about it.

We have having a piano player. I don't think a CD is cheesy either but if you have the extra money go for the the string quart.

Are you having a DJ? If so, they would play it. If not-I would probably have the piano play during your ceremony.

well, our DJ isn't coming until the cocktail hour at the reception hall at 4:30. We're getting married at our church at 1. So, even if we were to pay him to go to the church earlier, too... it would probably cost as much as a string quartet. I'm just trying to figure out if this is even something I would notice at my wedding, or if I should just save the $$ since if will all be a blur anyway.

I can see playing the Josh Groban and Rascal Flatts songs on the cd to get the sound of the real person... but would it be okay for an instrumental, like Pachelbel Canon?

My fiance is a classically trained piano player and it sounds beautiful when he plays it at home- so I think you should have the piano player play it. Have you heard the piano player play? Maybe you could hear him play it before the wedding?? I am having a string trio-FH's friend who plays with Janet King the harpist. I am not having the harp though- just the cello, violin, and flute.

So, Pachelbel Canon sounds nice on a piano? I've only heard it with the strings. Thanks! I'll ask the church guy! He's a WONDERFUL singer and piano player!
