Hi girls. I havn't been on much lately because I have been going through so much in my life. Anyway I need to vent becuase I had an interview for a job last week and I just got a letter saying that I did not get it. Did anyone get their first job on their first interview because I am so discouraged now.
On a happier note FH took me out to drown my sorrows in a LI iced tea and some chocolate

I didn't get my first job I was out of work for the entire summer after I graduated...this wasn't the job for you it is coming! LIT always makes me feel better too :)

what is your area? I'm a teacher and I'll keep an ear out in my district!
I was lucky enough to get the third job I interviewed for, however it was also the second week in August, so they made the decision really quickly. I was a leave replacement, so I had to start interviewing again last year- and as a teacher already in a good district I was turned down twice- luckily my district had another leave replacement.
Teaching can be so frustrating, and even worse, the more interviews you go on the more you can tell if they are only interviewing as a formality (if they only keep you for 15ish min., they probably already have someone else in mind) and that is so frustrating. But, in the long run once you are in it is the most rewarding career. I am the only one of all of my friends who comes home every day and says 'I love my job'! I am so sorry to hear about that. I am a dance teacher and it took me time to get dance teacher positions. I certainly did not get hired on my first dance teacher position interview but I did not let that stop me. I kept on looking for dance teacher openings. Called, Sent Resumes, Went On Interviews, and then one day after my dance teacher interview/audition I was told that I was hired. I was proud of myself because the confidence was always there. There is a teaching position there for you somewhere. Remember to always have your confidence. It may take a couple of interviews but it will happen. I wish you many special wishes.

You will get something, have no fear! The perfect job is out there waiting for you! It just wasn't meant to be at this place!

I hear the fustration. I'm going onto my third year and have been very close to a teaching job more then once, but never got one. I love where I am now as a TA, but I really want to teach in my own classroom. I can say that I love to wake up and know that I'm teaching everyday.

Sorry to hear you did not get the job. Teaching is such a hard profession to get a job in due to all the competition. When I was looking, over 2 years ago, I went on various interviews to no avail. The way I FINALLY secured this teaching job was an ex-coworker’s son was good friends with the principal. He placed my resume on the top of her pile with a post it note saying: hire her. I'm convinced the following three things are involved with teaching positions: luck, timing, and whom you know. Also keep in mind a lot of times districts already know who they are hiring (in house) and they are obligated to post the job. So very frustrating and sad I empathize with what you’re going through. Keep your chin up and your spirits higher. Good to hear your FI took you out. Hey at least you've won BIG in love!

hey don't stress it!! you'll get a better job. i'm hunting for a job too and it stinks. i totally feel discouraged. but i know i'll land a great job eventually.

Sorry you didn't get the job, but that just means there is an even better one waiting for you! Fh had a first interview, and even a second one, and didn't get that job...so don't feel bad!!

i got the first job and second... but they are all per diam substitutes so nothing big its so hard to find teachin jobs and i give you much luck cause i'm looking too and nothings really out there im sure you will find something though
