Didn't get the teaching job

Hi girls. I havn't been on much lately because I have been going through so much in my life. Anyway I need to vent becuase I had an interview for a job last week and I just got a letter saying that I did not get it.
Did anyone get their first job on their first interview because I am so discouraged now.

On a happier note FH took me out to drown my sorrows in a LI iced tea and some chocolate

I know exactly how you feel. I am a teacher and I can tell you that before I got my job, I went on SO many interviews. I was really getting very discouraged. Don't worry...it will all work out. Where are you interviewing? On LI? In the city?

aw, sorry to hear that!!! dont worry, there are plenty of other jofs out ther.......

i hate interviewing myself....it always takes me about 1-2 before i actually feel comfortable and can do it!!!!!
i feel like i always screw up my first interview anywhere if its been while!!!

Sorry sweetie. No, I did not get my 1st job. But when I did get a job it was the best I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason. That must not have been the place for you. GL next time

so sorry you didn't get it! It wasn't the job for you. Teaching is all about FIT! If the school is not right for you or you are not right for the school it won't work. Best of luck to you and don't despair - we can always use teachers up here in CT!

dont let it get you down -
last year i was excessed at the end of the year and i applied to at least 8 different schools and never heard a thing from any of them - my job ended up re-hiring me and i couldn't be happier this year.
My point is that everything works itself out and i'm sure something will come along.

In 2005 I was laid off from a job I had for 14 years after my boss retired. I took a little time off, but it took a while for me to get another poistion. I don't think it will take you too long because you are young and they need teachers desparately so just keep your head up and keep looking.

no no no! don't get discouraged just becuase you didn't land the first job you interviewed for.
You're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Unless you're in a field where there are much more positions than applicants, you should expect to go to DOZENS of interviews before landing a job. After all, there are dozens interviewed for each position!

You should view the job hunt as a job itself. Send out as many CV's as possible each week. Keep a record of who you contact, and give them a call every week or 2. This shows interest in the position... Go to your interviews, be energetic and hopeful, but please don't take the process too personally!
There's a lot of rejection in the job hunt game..... but in the end, it will be worth it...

If you didn't get it-then you weren't meant to. All that means is that the right job will come up for you.

I am so sorry! It's very frustrating but just take the whole experience as practice for the next one!

try after 14 interviews..
its very hard to get a job on long island.. best bet is to take a job at a private school or a school that needs aides.. and get experience.. MOst of the acutally 99% of the time adminstration does not want to hire new teachers.. just keep on trying ..

im so sorry!!! i know how you feel- i send out about 130 resumes to city schools and i heard back from NOBODY!! they didnt even want to give me or FH a chance! it really boils down to who you know

luckily i did find a job through nytime market) and was able to land a job - but its private school and im making half as much as i should so its very frustrating!! keep your head up !
