Different Body Types

Different Body Types

My BP will consist of my three sisters and my best friend- each one of them has a COMPLETELY different body type. I was originally thinking of choosing a color and letting them each wear a different style of the dress- but I am REALLY leaning towards black dresses-- I love the contrast! If I choose black though-- I want them all to wear the same dress so that they stand out-- there will probably be quite a few guests wearing black dresses!! Anyone know a good style that works with many body types?? Anyone else have this problem? I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable- but I also dont want them not to look like a BP. I personally wouldnt want to be wearing the same dress as three other girls to be compared with them-- but I dont knwo what to do! HELP!

honestly, there will never be a dress that looks great on all body types. i am in my best friend's wedding this august and we had a heck of a time choosing a dress. her bp is 7 girls with every range of body imaginable. it will take compromise on everyone's part!

good luck!

Yay! You on the 08 board!!!!
OK...I have the same problem...
First off, A-line bottom. Pretty much everyone looks great in it.
Second, take a look at the seperates. A lot of the tops can be very flattering on most girls. I really like the ones with a halter look and v-neck(it's not a halter, but it looks like one) I think its Alfred Angelo.
Third....Alfred Angelo seems to make dresses for all types of bodies. I am sticking to try to find an AA dress for my girls. There are so many choices that just look great on everyone. and if you look through magazines and such, you can actually see the dresses on all different shape woman whic I really like. The BM dress I have in my album is on one girl, but I also have a cut-out of it from a mag on a heavier girl, and it looks really good.

OMG I totally agree!! That dress DOES look good on everyone there-- I will have to consider that style.

I think that at the end of the day I will think my girls look beautiful-- I just want them to feel the same way! I don't want them to be uncomfortable!!

How did you go shopping? Did you take them all with you? I am not picking one MOH- I'm just having all 4 of them share the responsibilities because I could never pick one over the others-- (my sisters are triplets-- so it's not like I could even pick the oldest one!!) oh & WHEN did you/are you going shopping? I dont want to go too early- but if it turns out that it takes us a LONG time to compromise I dont want to be rushing!

I actually saw it online and e-mailed it to all of my girls first. they all said they loved it. My sister who is my MOH came with me and looked at it. I will have all my girls come one day to go with me to try them on and give there sizes and everything. Probably in april or may.

Re: Different Body Types

my BMs are all totally different body types from eachother. I chose one color and length from Jcrew and they can all get whatever neckline they want. They have to wear the dress- not me- so I dont really care which neckline they are in. Jcrew has black I believe.

my issues also... i have one BM she is 6 foot. another thats 5 foot like me..

one has 38DD and another is a 34A

this is the style i was thinking to hide the DD and accentuate the A

make everyone comfortable...

also the size ranges from a 0 to 16 so i feel this dress is the best.

Re: Different Body Types

Well the bottom was an A line skirt. And the top looked almost like it was a seperate but it wasn't. it over lapped the skirt so tat it covered the midsection. I'll be looking for something like that.

I have the same problem and I just found my dresses today I am getting the bill levkoff style 966. The maid and matron of honor will wear sable with champagne sashes while the other two girls will wear all sable. The dress is really beautiful and looks great on everyone. My girls have completely different body types. One girl is a size 6, on a size 10 with size e chest, the other a size 12, and my last my matron of honor is a size 22.
