different engagement & wedding rings

different engagement & wedding rings

Hi,

Just curious, since my wedding band is different than my engagement ring-they do not go together-is it okay to wear engagement ring on right hand after wedding? My mom & our friend the jeweler said that's fine-he's seen alot of people do that. Just wanted some outside opinions.
Thanks!!

That's what I'm going to do. My engagement ring looks too bulky with a wedding band behind it. My FH's parents are jewlers and had it custom made for me. It is beautiful, but I was dissappointed to find out I couldn't really wear them together. Even a smaller, thinner band looked too much. My FH's father said the same thing- many people are wearing their e-rings on their right hand. I think yours will be fine that way.

Thanks, Kelly4, you just made my day!!

I have the same problem-my engagement ring is custom made and is beautiful, but we really wanted the claddagh rings for our wedding bands and they came out great, but my e-ring looks ridiculous with it.
Thanks again!!

Springbride.... you're welcome +

I love the idea of the claddagh rings! So unique and pretty. I used to wear one until I got my e-ring.

Good luck! everyting sounds wonderful : )

I'm old fashioned*

I personally didn't want too, I like the two rings together but my custom ring didn't really make it easy to find a match, but I figured down the line when we have children I will just want to wear my band and not worry about the diamond cutting the baby. So, spending the extra money on a custom diamond band was worth it.
My other reason was my e -ring is a size 5, my right hand is a size 6... It seemed like such a pain in the but to have to worry about having a new shank put on and resizing it.. so that added expense just went to a custom band.

That's just my two sents, I love my ring and I just like them together. Both my mother and my grandmother had interlocking bands with there E ring so I am just used to it and old fashioned. :)

I'm wearing them on different hands

My engagement ring just does not look good with any other ring - it takes away from both. I found a band I love and I'll wear that on my left and my e-ring on my right.

It really depends on what you like. Both rings together are too much for my one hand.

springbride, crazy question..

did you get your band made at Elsa's? Cuz the other day when I was there with my fiance, a couple was beside us finalizing their custom made claddagh wedding bands and the salesperson had us take a peek!!!! Could that have been you??? How strange!!!!

springbride, crazy question..

I wear my e-ring on my left hand and My wedding ring on the left...someday I want one that fits but i like the fact that my DH and I have matching bands...you have to save somethings for anniversarys...
I also wanted a ring that i could wear by itself.
I have a friend who just had twins and wishes that she did not get interlocking bands

just my 2cents...

That's funny; no, it wasn't us!! Our friend made up our rings as a wedding gift.
Best wishes to you!!
