We are doing a wine blending ceremony. FH is jewish and I am catholic so I wanted a form of unity ceremony that incorporated parts of the jewish wine blessing. Also, we love wine so it is perfect for us!
My FH is also Jewish and I'm Catholic. This sounds perfect! How did you incorporate the Jewish wine blessing?
Yeah I want to know more about this wine blending ceremony!

We don't meet with our officiant until next month to iron out the details but the way we plan to do it is to have two carafes with two half bottles set up with a big glass in between. During the ceremony, our mom's are going to come up and pour wine into the carafes and we are going to pour it into the middle glass. This part is kind of like the unity cermony. The officiant says something about how the one wine (usually white) represents happiness, joy, etc. and the other wine (usually red) represents bitterness, sorrow, etc. and together the represent the richness of life or something like that. Before we go into all that, we asked the officiant to think about aspects of the Jewish wine blessing that we can say while staying true to our preferred non-denominational tone. I cna report back when I get some feedback from her.
