Digital camera question

Digital camera question

do any digi cams have timers that you can set to take family portraits?
I'm in the market for a new camera & I really want that feature.
Also my Kodak EasyShare has a long delay before it actually captures the image-so I miss a lot of action shots, how do you find out which digital cameras are best for action shots?
I'm a photography dummy, so I need all the help I can get

Re: Digital camera question

Not sure about the timers on models but the delay time between pressing the button and the shutter closing is a common problem with digital cameras...it has something to do with the digital file being stored or something. I think the only digital thats dont have that problem are the really high end professional ones. In any case, action shots are still best captured on traditional SLR film cameras.

Re: Digital camera question

I totally missed the action shots part...but we just upgraded our canon and there is a HUGE difference in time taking the picture...but I haven't experimented yet
