Ok, my mom's boyfriend is the biggest piece of S*&^ there is...he is not welcome/invited to my wedding, my mom understands my feelings, so here is my dilemma.
Who will walk my mom down the aisle and who will escort her into the hall? (I am have the announcements of the BP & parents at the hall).
My dad is remarried & will be with his wife. Help please!

Re: Dillema help please
Welcome to my world! I had both my mom and my Dad walk me down the aisle to avoid the 'who will walk Mom down' situation. I skipped announcements at the reception also- for a ton of reasons. If you must have your Mom walk down alone you can either a) have a brother-in law or uncle walk her down b) ask her to chose someone to do it You can also ask your FIL to do it. At the reception have that same person walk her in.
Honestly, I just skipped the things that would make my mother feel uncomfortable since her husband was not there.

Re: Dillema help please
She can walk in the church by herself if its part of the ceremony. I've seen it done that the mother walks in by herself with the same music that the party is walking in with. Or she can walk you down the aisle with your father if they are on good terms. For the reception, if there are no relatvies on your side, it might be cute if she walks in with the flower girl & ring bearer. That would work better if they are little, it be more like she needs to help them and not so obvious that she doesn't have an escort.

Re: Dillema help please
This is the reason I'm not doing anniversary dance, b/c Dad is now widowed, and Lens mom is single. The ppl that matter the most won't be able to participate

Re: Dillema help please
thats a great suggestion michele however i still need help, heres why:
1-none of her family members will be there (long story)
2-she always said & keeps saying, one of her favorite things that day will be to see my dad walk me down the aisle & hand me over to john

Re: Dillema help please
Yeah, you can make your MOm like a Matron of Honor, that would fix the situation at the ceremony b/c the Matrons usually walk alone.

Yeeah for recetption, introduce her w/Best Man.
If you're thinking then how about my MOH, then have MOH walk in w/BM, both escorted by 1 GM.

Re: Dillema help please
Do you have any male friends from your childhood that she knows? and that is coming to the wedding? What about FH's side of the family, is there anyone on his side that can walk her down? I wouldnt worry to much about the reception, i have seen plenty of weddings where the mom is introduced alone...But i would try to have someone walk her down the isle.
