Disappaering Posts --- VENT about LIW

i heart LIW--without a doubt. its a great site and it helped me alot with my wedding.

HOWEVER there is ONE thing that is a constant annoyance , and its been talked about a great deal...but i'll be yet another one to post about it.

it really stinks that ppl post OPINIONS and stories about vendors on here...concerning their experience dealing with them....and said vendors have the power to tell the moderators to remove it.

i guess opinions only count if they are saying 'nice' things about a paying vendor here. its too bad that brides ca not get real opinions on things and find out any negative experiences, cause if a vendor is scouring the boards to find out if anyone bad mouthed them---and is just constantly telling the mods to delete the posts...how is that fair??? (and don't get me started about how shady it is that vendors are LOOKING for comments about them on here)

well whatever.....who knows, maybe THIS will get pulled too...but i just wanted to vent .

Melissa I agree with you whole heartedly!!!! Funny you should mention it because a post from yesterday telling the truth about one of the vendors has mysteriously disappeared!!!! they want this to be a forum for us to share our experiences and help future brides and they get rid of the truth!!!!!!

I have to agree, it really makes it difficult to do research on a particular vendor when you're not sure if negative posts were removed. I feel like if a vendor does a good job, then they will be praised. And if they screw up, then they have to expect people will have negative things to say about them. I think they should focus more on pleasing their customers than negative reviews. JMO

you'd think that vendors would say 'let me address this issue and make sure my client was happy---so that we can make sure they tell girls on LIW that i'm reasonable and cater to my clients no matter what' but i guess they are more concerned with than anything else.

ohhhh yeah. its one of the most popular complaints about LIW that you will find as time goes on. they can pull a post instantly if a vendor complains!

i didnt know that LIW did this until after i booked some vendors. which scared me.

atleast give us a forum to vent if you dont want it all over the board. its not like if we vent and give negative comments we are doing it in an innapropriate way.

Yeah I really hate that! And why are some vendors names blocked in posts??

The point of chat boards is to allow us to freely discuss our opinions and experiences. When you take away that right, you (LIW) are essentially censoring us.

It annoys me that vendors have the ability

Maybe the vendors should take a look at why someone posted their bad experience and take steps to correct it so it doesn't happen again. They just want to cover up their own mistakes!

If I ever found one my vendors doing this, I'd be p!ssed to no end

yeah we really should know the good and the bad, if a vendor messes up then its something they have to take responsibility for...if a person joins and searches a vendor and only finds positive reviews bc all the negative ones get deleted, this person will think theyre great and book them, and then they can possibly mess up their wedding, its not right.

The vendors pay to advertise on the site, big time conflict of interest, but reality. LIW needs to protect it's source of income.....

Exactly if im a vendor and i want to advertise i am not going to advertise on a website that posts bad news about my company - even if its true...

Without vendors LIW cannot operate.

yea it is all about the $$$
if we rant about a vendor and tell people not to use them ... that can kill there business.

but i agree with Espo about searching for a particular vendor and generally finding good and great reviews.. but not alot of bad . which is not fair to us either
