bbb is a great idea!!! I guess if you see that someone used a vendor you are considering - it is best you FM them!!

That is horrible, a lot of us rely on each others experiences so we dont end up dealing with a bad vendor.

i agree with this to a point -- but its very one sided if any single time any type of negativity is pulled because a vendor doesn't want brides to hear about it.
yes they pay for the site---but i can not tell you how many times brides post after their weddings saying 'i felt disappointed with this vendor after my wedding--and i had read so many glowing things about them' a lot of times its because posts are pulled....and then you don't get the whole story.
and yes ppl should chk with the bbb -- but not every single person goes to bbb for an issue with a vendor. if the issue is something like 'i felt their customer service was lacking because of ....x y z' or 'on the big day they had made some mistakes and didn't put the right flowers here and there...make sure if you deal with so - and -so that you keep on that' why shouldn't those types of posts stay around as a 'heads up' to others? those are the types of posts i am talking about.
ETA: btw--i do remember a post that was pulled about a certain limo company after a bride used them and gave a detailed and honest review about them as a warning. she didn't bash them---she gave facts about how they left guests behind at her wedding instead of taking them back to the hotel as per their agreement, and other information. guess what? that got pulled because the vendor told LIW to pull it.. you know what? a few months later that company was featured on 7 on your Side on Eyewitness News, had MULTIPLE complaints...and was even fined and had one of their limos confiscated.

I agree that it would be nice to know the truth...unfortunately without the vendors who post to advertise there would be no LIW...we dont pay to sign up, its free so the only way they make their money is through advertisement. If vendors who advertise with LIW are unhappy with what is being said and they call to tell them to take it down and its not done then they will simply take their money elsewhere and not advertise on here anymore. So its kind of like a double edged sword

I completely agree with you, LIW is doing a disservice to their users by not allowing negative posts. At the end of the day, they need to determine where their best interests lie, with the user or the vendor. If the posts are too one sided in favor of the vendors, they will lose credibility with the very users their service is meant to assist.
Honestly, I would be very concerned about a vendor who was so sensitive to negative feedback that they would request censorship. It makes me question their commitment to their product. Negative feedback is the best way to improve your services, if you don't get any, how would you know what you are doing wrong!?! But I guess that's just me!

it has happened---its rare---but i do know that it has occurred that someone received a 'warning' not to FM others abuot their experience with a vendor. its just crazy!!!

without the vendors there would be no 'US' if they decide to side with us and abandon their vendors then how would they pay to keep this site? well they could charge us thats how, but im sure alot of ppl wouldn't like that. LIW doesnt do events and keep this running for free, it costs money and the only way they make their money is through advertisement
