Disappointed and Sad

Soo after posting a review on a certain catering hall vendor, after one of my dearest friend's weddng last month, my words got competely misconstrued.
If you remember reading that review, which got deleted pretty quickly, you'll remember that it was 90% positive, and I had many great things to say about the reception. The only non positive feedback I had, which wasn't bashing, it was matter of fact about an incident that I expressed an opinion about. Nothing was to be negative, just informative. When my friend got back from her HM I told her about the incident, even though it wasn't a big deal.
Well, she had to go to the place to pick up things that were left, and needless to say, whoever she dealt with told her that there was a review here on LIW that completely bashed the wedding. She knows I'm on here, so of course the person hinted to me. This person completely exaggerated what was written (which wasn't even bad!) and now my dear friend is totally upset and thinks that I thought her wedding ******. Which it totally did not!!
I am really upset over this. So here's my advice to my fellow posters-
Watch what you post, because like the game of 'telephone', your words get completely rearranged and will bite you in the a**.

IMO I don't think it was right of her RH to tell her that. Thats seems kind of odd. Yes its a public forum but why would you tell a bride that one of her guests in their words' bashed' her wedding.

Oh Jenn, I am so sorry. I realize with this website it can be a blessing and curse. That was not right of the RH to do this. I think LIW admin should contact the RH and let them know what they did was not right and that your post was not bashing them. I wish there was someway way you can show what your wrote about your friends wedding was positive. Sorry hun

I think at this point just to let it rest. As it is, I come out of this looking like a mean 2 faced bridezilla, which I am the furthest from. At this point what else can I say to my friend? We haven't even talked about it b/c her grandma is in the hospital. We could only converse via text.

awww, twinnie! I'm so sorry! I remember the post and like you said, it was 90% complimentary and just that one thing that you posted for the rest of us to be aware of, nothing BAD just info for us brides, I personally found it helpful. Don't worry! I'm sure once you get a chance to talk to your friend face to face and tell her what actually happened she'll know that you didn't mean anything about it.

i know there are certain vendors that read everything certain people write and it's so wrong .... yes you mr. photog i know your reading this now stop calling my house and cell!!!!!!!!!!

i swear this certain photog is so pushy i don't get what he doesn't understand about WE ARE NOT INTERESTED if i don't answer the phone the 50000000000 time you caled it means i don't wish to speak to you because if i answer the phone I wll start yelling!!! I'm not naming names but you know who you are.


sorry pushy vendors annoy me so much and the fact that they sit on here all day rather than do their jobs discusts me.

I'm very sorry that happened to you!

Sometimes I feel this site is tantamount to a high school clique. Everyone always talks, and word always gets back, and it's borderline ridiculous. I didn't see your original post, but heard afterwards what it was in reference to, and I can tell you would never say anything that wasn't an honest observation and intentionally be hurtful.

To expect that situation not to arise would be naive, as that's just the nature of the business nowadays. In fact, when I saw this particular vendor, I was actually warned of that.

Now, call me every name in the book, but why even bring that up? I've worked in restaurants...I know the deal. But to come flat out and tell you hey guess what, your servers won't be able to sprechenzie english? Why even go there? Somethings not kosher in Denmark with that.

Granted that's not the reason we didn't go with the particular vendor, there were other factors, nothing bad, just not right for us. But hearing this now is upsetting to me, because that's just straight horse shiz.
