Disappointed, updated with Question

My dad is friends with the owner of Captain Bills. I have been driving him nuts since I set the date to go book the rehearsal dinner there. We finally went last night and they are booked for August 7. I am so disappointed. Stupid Bay Shore class of 69 reunion!!

Where else in the Islip area should I look? I have lived here my whole life but I have no ideas. I really wanted it on the water. My shower, bachelorette party, his bachelor party, our wedding, our e-party, its all on the water.

If my BM is having her wedding at the Snapper Inn on May 30, do you think it would be bad to have my RD there on Aug 7?

That stinks! Do you definitely want to have it the night before though? Maybe do it two nights before and then you can get the place?

If that's not an option, 21 Main is excellent. Not on the water, but the food is amazing.

On the water, I've been to an e-party at Fat Fish in Bayshore, and it was pretty good. It definitely has the location you're looking for.

fat fish, snapper inn, pier 44, riverview (ehh food is ok).. no way you can change your date? captain bills kicks hiney.

im from EI, too and we're doing ours at Harbor Crab in patchogue. It's on the water and the food is soooooo yummy. we go there all the time with friends so we thought itd be fun to have it there.

It is the night before. Unfortunately it has to be. I have to many bms and gms from out of town (and FH's whole family) who can't take off a whole day on Friday or more. My one bm from DC would have to take off Thursday and Friday if I had my rd on Thursday. I can't do that to her. And FH's best man is the manager of the restaurant so Friday and Sat is a big enough issue.

They are actually booked on Thursday anyhow.

shandon court is right in east islip. my sister had her RD in the uppper room there. it was REALLY nice and food was great!

As long as her wedding is first that will be fine. For you it's just the RD.

I agree, if her wedding was after your RD I would say no don't but because its before it should be fine.

How about Gatsby in Islip?

It doesn't have to be on the water, it would have been nice, but its a Friday in August, so its also hard and costly. Gatsby changed hands, its now Nicos. I haven't heard anything about it good or bad. Do you know?

36, I almost went into shock when I figured that number out. Something you don't think of when you ask 6 girls and 6 guys to be in your wedding is that it automatically means 24 people at your rehearsal dinner.
