Disappointing Valentine's Day?

Disappointing Valentine's Day?

With all these wonderful posts about sweet FH, is there anyone out there that is disappointed w/ how their V- Day turned out?

I have to say that first off I had to stay at school for an Open House/show & didn't get home until 915pm (FH goes to work at 10pm)

I got home & he did clean up the entire apt. but I walked in expecting flowers or a sweet gift & he hands me a card w/ Lotto tixs inside & a note saying he'd give me my gift today.

Well I was tired & kinda disappointed & we ended up arguing & hence, no gift today just feeling a bit down. I wish FH was more romantic.

I once read an article about what guys think romance is and it actually talked about how some men show 'romance' by doing things for their loved one, like cleaning up the apartment.

So sorry, sweetie, that your day was't how you hoped it would be. I thought DH would have gotten me a little something, but he didn't. We exchanged cards and he cooked dinner.

FH's mom spent the day in the hospital (she's fine). But as a result I saw him for about one hour total, (as in, in my line of sight) and spent about 15 minutes with him. We agreed no gifts (including no flowers), so that was fine, but I would've like more than 15 minutes worth of attention.

Aww Cindy i know how you feel (well sort of)- hopefully your FH will make it up to you....

I didn't get to see FI yesterday - remember i live in NJ.. and we only sent eachother an ecard. He was thinking of coming up but i told him he'd be too tired for work the next day knowing it would be a waste of a trip to come up for 2 hours... so we're celebrating this weekend. I felt bad b/c my sister came home with tons of gifts, etc from her short lived BH.

Yeah!!!! I didn't even see my FH!! We have both been sick all week and were too tired/sick to do anything. I spent it with my family instead- lying on the couch watching tv!! Very relaxing though!!!

Yeah no romantic Vday for me either. We agreed no gifts, I even said lets not buy cards. It would mean more to me if you made me a card, with your own words. So I worked hard and made FH a really sweet card, He comes home at midnight with nothing! I know he had a really crazy day at work but I was so dissapointed that he couldn't even make me card, the only thing I asked for! Well I cried, he felt like crap. I got my card yesterday night, ok I guess

I would jump for joy if my FH cleaned the entire apartment. That would be way better than flowers, a gift or a card! He'd definitely get some for that!

But I know what you mean, this si the 3rd year in a row we've had a damper on our V_day, so it is hard, but you can always try to make it up. We're having our v-day on saturdday

FH is sick. But he did write me a poem and went out to dinner.

I don't really associate anyhitng with Vday, such a hallmark holiday.

We agreed to do no gifts, but I didn't realize that meant no flowers
It was such a regular night, except we gave each other cards.

same with me
