here's an update: GET THIS

my mom remembered her friend's husband works at the sheraton so she tracked him down and called him. he told her: THERE IS NO FLOODING. he said that the hotel has been overbooked for 2 weeks now. OMG~!!!!!!

I made a complaint with corporate and as soon as my mom told me this i called them and left a vm. unfortunately it was 11pm already and all the agents were gone for the day.

so this morning my mom's friend goes to work at the sheraton and pulls up my name in their system and finds out there are reservations for half of our group's rooms. what gives???

OMG, I'd DEFINITELY raise hell - or take advantage of the good hell raisers on here to help you out.

I REALLY, REALLY hope you get it all straightened out. After all this, you and your guests should be getting a MAJOR discout, if not free rooms!!!

OMG!! I would FLIP!!! They should be BENDING OVER BACKWARDS TO ACCOMODATE YOU a WEEK BEFORE YOUR WEDDING!

We're talking:

discounted rates at another chain
FREE shuttle buses to make up for the additional travel
COMPED rooms for you and your FAMILY for the inconvenience
and free breakfast at the TIME OF YOUR CHOOSING for your guests (none of this must be down by 9am crap).

Plus whatever else they were giving you.

This isn't something they're telling you about 2 months ahead of time (that would be bad enough!). This is FIVE DAYS BEFORE! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! Non-chalant my AZZ!!

GO RAISE SOME HELL!

What chain is this??? Is it a chain? Go as high as you have to to get satisfied! Go Bridezilla on them... you have EVERY right!!!!

I am arriving at this story late..but I just had to say OMFG!!!!!! I would be hysterical while my mom was on the phone raising hell (She's much better at it). Good luck to you. You should SUE!!!! I wonder if you can for something like this...psychological distress!

omg. i just read this horrible news. my future father in law has been on one of those news shows. they do help you. i would go to them now and even afterwards i would persue the news going down to them. watch how fast they kiss your a**. if thers anything i can do please don;t hesitate to ask. i dunno what esle to say but i hope it all works out for you, and i agree with the girls start raising hell. good luck sweetie.

What happened today?!!??!?!!?!??!!?!?!? This is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

First of all, don't panic. MANY MANY brides have stayed at the Wingate, myself included. Some of the most beautiful pictures I have were taken there (the Garden City location). It is not a motel, nor is it a downgrade. It's a VERY nice place, especially if you get their bridal suite (which the Sheraton should be arranging for you).

I agree with the other girls, if the Sheraton is treating you this way, you need to go raise h*ll. But in the event that you can't keep your rooms there, you at least need to know that you're not being sent to a motel. Far from it.

okay i'm here with an update:

yes the win gate inn at garden city is gorgeous.
but they are fully booked.
the sheraton is offering us the win gate in FLUSHING. which is not the same. this one has no suites. just regular standard rooms. it is just off the highway and faces an alleyway.

i have been working with sheraton corporate who has agreed to be the middle man. my agent has been telling me that the sheraton refuses to give him straight answers. they also told him my 'husband' came into the sheraton today, sat down with them and told him our guests have no problem with staying at the win gate. ALL LIES. my fiance was at work in his office ALL day. his coworkers threw him a surprise shower today in fact and he took a car home on the company to carry the gifts he got.

my agent has been working hard to find a resolution because i took yall's advice and started threatening to call the new stations. i said i could probably be on the 10 o'clock news.

right now we have still not gotten anything better than the win gate.

i will keep yall updated.
