I went shopping today with my bridesmaids for their dresses. We went to macys in manhasset first. Found a dress they all liked, I loved it, and we were gonna get 15% off! And they pull out the swatch thing for the colors and they dont have the right shade of purple. They pulled a dress for me in that color so I could see it on a dress, and its too blue looking. We said ok, lets go check out davids bridal. They have the exact purple I'm looking for but we hated every dress! So went back to macys to do a double check on the first dress, and its definately not the right color. So sad :( Now I'm starting to freak out because we don't have their dresses yet and I'm discouraged. bleh.

What is the 'right' color? I had a shade of blue in mind, but I've come to realize that it's only the one I want cause I want it, not because of any other coordinating things or anything. So I've decided that I need to let that color go (since I haven't found it anywhere!)and just look for a dress that my girls and I can agree on. Do you have something you are trying to match?

Don't be discouraged, you will find what you are looking for. You have time also, I think you need to place the order for BM dresses usually 4-6 months before. I recommend trying RK Bridal, they have the largest selection of Bridemaid dresses I have seen in one place.

Aww im in the same boat. I'm looking for that 'right' shade of blush pink and its nearly impossible! My advice is ask the attendant to show you all the brand swatches first. That might help narrow your search and leave you feeling less dissapointed. Fantasia in rocky point catergorizes all their bm dresses by brand which makes it easier to shop for that specific color.

Thankfully Nov is far enough away! Just keep looking. Online researched helped a ton. Also, I found ours at RK in the city. They have TONS, better than their bridal selection in my opinion. You can order them from a diff place in LI too, dont have to order at RK if thats too complicated.

My mom and I were just talking about this. We should have asked to see the swatches for the color before we all got really excited about the dress. Will definately be doing this next time.
