Disney Help

For those of you that have been to Disney, Epcot, MGM etc are there any restaurants that you would recommend. We are going there for our HM and we want a variety of places to go to from fun to romantic.
TIA

It wasn't in any of the parks, I want to say it was in 'Downtown Disney' if that is even a place :) But it was a very nice rest and eh food was amazing. We also saw Cirge Du Soleil when we were there which was awesoem. It was in teh same area as teh restaraunt. HTH!

There's a restaurant in MGM called Hollywood and Vine. DON'T waste your money. It's a buffet type deal, it's too expensive and the food's not that good. There's a cool Drive-in type place where you go inside and you're actually sitting in 'cars' while classic movies clips are being played. That was fun/different.

Magic Kingdom - definitely eat at the top of Cinderella's Castle. I'm not sure what the name of that restaurant is.

Epcot has a good restaurant in the area called 'The Land' in the Future Showcase. The food is good. The restaurant is 360* so it slowly spins as you eat. Not fast enough to make you sick!

Downtown Disney is a great place to go out to eat. They have a ton of different restaurants there and alot of great shopping.

If you're in the World Showcase at EPCOT, DH and I LOVE the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant. Also, Les Chefs de France (France) and Le Cellier (which is in Canada).

The restaurants in the lands at Epcot are good. We've eaten at Italy, Japan, France and England. All good.

The Primtime Cafe in MGM is a fun place where it's like a diner from the 50s...the waitstaff yell at you if your elbows are on the table, you don't eat all your veggies...etc. It's fun

Wolfgang Pucks on the Westside of Downtown Disney is really good as well as the Italian restaurant and seafood restaurant at downtown (I don't remember the names)

At Magic Kingdom I like the Liberty Tree Tavern. They serve homestyle favorites like turkey and mashed potatoes. For breakfast do the character breakfast at the Crystal Palace.

HTH FM if you want more info. I've been Disney tons of times and we've practically eaten everywhere.

The Disney agent also recommended Le Cellier. Good to know.
Thanks!

Have you ever been to the Coral Reef in Epcot?

In Epcot we love San Angel Inn in the Mexican Pavillion the atmosphere is great and the food is absolutely delicious.

In Downtown Disney we love the Rain forest Cafe for a fun place to eat. Also wolfgang puck is good.

Of course for dessert in down town disney I would recommend a hot fudge sunday from Ghiradelli (sp?) It's big enought for two.

Looking for a quick snack or even a sit down meal, I love the nachos at ESPN zone.

Shutter at the Carribean Beach Resort is also really good food.

I don't recommend the restaurant in the Italian Pavillion, the food was ok, and it is very crowded, the tables are extremely close together, when my food came out the woman next to me leaned over and asked me what I was eating it looked good. I thought she was going to use her fork to sample some, it was like we were at the same table.

Portabella (i think that's the name) in Downtown Disney had good Italian food.

I have come to the conclusion at the end of my response, that I might like food just a little too much.

For a fun, non-romantic dinner at MGM, there is a diner called Prime Time! It is so much fun. It is based on the 50's. The waiters have on the 50s clothing. If you don't finish your veggies they'll call Ma! If you put your elbows on the table, They'll call Ma!! It just a place to go to have good laughs and good food!

This restaurant is on the West Side of Downtown DIsney and I heard it is very good! They have a smaller, 'quick food' version in the Marketplace side of Downtown Disney. The Rain forest cafe is always fun and of course they have planet hollywood if you want that type of style. FH and I ate at Cap'n Jack's Restaurant in the marketplace also which was pretty good - my advice, if it is just you and FH, eat at the bar. You don't have to wait as long!

I have eaten there, but it was a long time ago. I believe they have redone it since and I haven't been back.

I agree. I wasn't very happy with the Italian Pavvilion restaurant.

FH and I LOVE the restaurant at the Chinese Pavilion. I absolutely recommend that one!!

Re: Disney Help

Super romantic, elegant, amazing service: Victoria & Albert at the Grand Floridian
Beautiful view (especially of the fireworks), incredible wine list, delicious food: California Grill
Great seafood: Flying Fish at the Boardwalk
Awesome wings: ESPN Zone Boardwalk
Steaks: Yachtsman at Yacht Club and/or Le Cellier at Canada in Epcot (haven't been to that one)
Great South African food & wine: Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Todd English (the chefs for Olives restaurant) recently opened a restaurant called Blue Zoo (either at the Swan or Dolphin--you can walk there from Epcot) is supposed to be fantastic too.
I'm sooooo jealous....

Check out All Ears Net for tons of restaurant summaries and reviews!!

Re: Disney Help

the suggestions above are all great.

i second the Brown Derby at MGM and the drive-in one that's lcoated right across from the Star Wars ride (ithey have faux cars and you can eat your meal while watching B-movies...really cute and fun).

You can't go wrong at any of the ethnic places at Epcot; I especially liked the food at the Mexican and Morracan Pavilians...

At the Magic Kingdom, you should go in one morning and have breakfast with Mickey and Minnie...Mickey waffles are so much fun to eat

Re: Disney Help

Thanks for the help so far. I love hearing others opinions.
As of now we have reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Ball Dinner at Magic Kingdom, The Spirit of Aloha at the Polynesian, and the Coral Reef at Epcot. These are three that we know we definitely want.
We are doing lunch at the 50’s Primetime.

Re: Disney Help

Ok now for all my recommendations:

Magic Kingdom:

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café
Enjoy a Blast-off Burger, Cosmic Chicken, BBQ ribs or Starlight Soups and Salads at this 'stellar' counter-service restaurant.

The Pinocchio Village Haus
Real boys and girls enjoy the tasty treats of this enchanting corner of Fantasyland® where Pinocchio lives. Enjoy cheeseburgers, hot dogs, French fries with toppings and crisp salads.

Columbia Harbour House
Dive into the hearty sandwiches, crisp salads, clam chowder and fish and chicken baskets at this river's edge eatery.

Cinderella's Royal Table - Dreams Come True
Enjoy an enchanted evening meal in the heart of Cinderella's Castle. - never done this, but it is your HM!

Epcot:

Coral Reef Restaurant
Dine under the sea with a perfect view of its inhabitants in this awesome restaurant in The Living Seas pavilion. - heard this is awesome!

Nine Dragons Restaurant
Dine in a Chinese palace on a spectacular meal fit for Chinese royalty. - in the China Pavilion

MGM we just got a of quick service, and I know this has nothing to do with food, but you HAVE to see Fantasmic!! Make sure you get there an hour and a half to two hours early. You can bring food in and they have quick service counters there to buy food. This show is amazing!

Are you going to Universal also? Because I can give you recommendations for there as well....

Re: Disney Help

The FH & I are really big Disney people - we were there not too long ago & here a few of my faves:
Le Cellier Steakhouse - located in Epcot’s Canada - we had an amazing dinner there - appetizers, bottle of wine, dinner (I don’t do steak, but had a great fish dish), great dessert - AND the ambiance was wonderful. All mahogany & nice lighting - we had dinner in a cozy oversized corner table - it was really worth it - I can't wait to go there again.

50s Prime Time Café at MGM - great for lunch - fun

Bistro de Paris - in Epcot’s France - another great dinner place

Fulton’s Crab House - downtown - great seafood - esp. crab legs & really nice wine list

Jelly Rolls on the Boardwalk - great for late night drinks & when I was there last they had dueling pianos that were entertaining

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in the Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland - good fast food with the entertainment stylings of Sunny Eclipse!

Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom is great to get reservations for a window table during the evening fireworks - it’s the best seat in the park to see the fireworks!

I think I want to plan another trip now! Hope you have a great time planning - it really is the happiest place on earth!
