Re: Disney question
I stayed there once in March 2004. It was nice, not my favorite, but my daughter fell in love with the natural scenery, the beach and the playground (she was 4 at the time). The staff there actually provided the best service I have had on any of my Disney trips. If you like the outdoors and mountains you will like this resort, it has lots of romantic nooks.
Within the same price range, I would say check out the Yacht and Beach club.

Re: Disney question
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index is a really useful site. I'm taking FH to Disney for his birthday and he can't wait. I think he's more excited about this trip than our honeymoon. I'm not even joking that he would've preferred Mickey over Tahiti! Anyway, we're staying at the Animal Kingdom which looks like a lot of fun. The Web site above gives you tons of info and photos on the different hotels and resorts.

I agree!! (Almost However, Disney was A LOT cheaper and sooooo much closer! You can't beat that 2 hour non-stop flight!!
ETA: The Animal Kingdom is great, but it is quite a distance from everything besides the AK. Busses are SLOW too. I prefer somewhere where you're either a walk or a monorail trip away from Epcot, Magic Kingdom, etc. I love the Polynesian's proximity to the MK and the monorail to Epcot; also, the Boardwalk/Yacht Beach/Swan/Dolphin are all walking distance to Epcot and MGM. Swam & Dolphin are a bit different from the regular Disney hotels (i.e. international conventions, lots of businesspeople etc.)

Re: Disney question
no way, just because it doesnt have a monorail or boat to a park (animal kingdom lodge) doesnt mean you should stay there, that is by far the 2nd best place in disney world. 1st being polynesian and its the same price as the wilderness. i'd stay there if you werent going with the wilderness lodge. the food alone is incredible

Re: Disney question
The AK isn't 'far-far'--I mean it is on Disney property--but to me, it just isn't as convenient as some of the other hotels. We never rent a car down there (and the buses can be SLOW), so we like to be at a resort that is either walking distance or a monorail ride to the places we like the most (i.e. Epcot, other hotels, Magic Kingdom).

Re: Disney question
my family goes to disney every year (we love it there!!)
my favorite hotel is definetly the polynesian....its perfect for a honeymoon - (if you stay here go to the luau dinner)
we are going in a month and this time will be staying at the yacht and beach club. its beautiful there too!
i've never stayed at the wilderness lodge but the hotel is absolutely breathtaking...and transportation from the hotel is very convenient. providing you stay on disney,...you cannot go wrong!

Re: Disney question
I haven't stayed at the wilderness, but I heard it is nice. I do think the polynesian is great for a HM. I also love the boardwalk....it is on a little boardwalk with restaurants, bars, and shops. Very cute.

Re: Disney question
I stayed at Wilderness Lodge. It was beautiful. We're splitting our time between there and the Polynesian on our honeymoon. My FH and I have been there three times in the past year, and we like to hotel hop. But the Wilderness Lodge is wonderful for a honeymoon.
