We're going to Disney on the first part of our honeymoon and I'm trying to make a list up of the restaurants we want to make reservations at (since we'll be able to make the reservations soon!). If you had the choice between The Brown Derby and The Sci-Fi Dine-in restaurants for lunch in Hollywood Studios, which would you pick? Thanks!

Re: Disney Restaurant Question
I love Disney...I was disappointed with the food at Sci-Fi but the vanilla milk shake was FABULOUS!!! Go to allears.net and they have reviews on the restaurants. or mousesavers.com HTH

There's a place Mama Melrose in Disney STudios that is good Italian and you can do a fantasmic package which gives you VIP seating to the show.. We also love japan in epcot.. enjoy!

I say if you wanna do a signature, hit up California Grill (Contemporary Resort) or Narcoossees (Grand Floridian). I can talk all things Disney all the time lol
I second the California Grill, but you have to find out what time the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are and plan it so you will be there at that time. Its so romantic if you go out on the deck and watch the fireworks over the castle from the view of the California Grill.
Bistro de Paris is great. I found this romantic as well. Its a good spot to be for Reflections of Earth. Also Italy has new people running it, my parents know them and apparently they spent a lot of money to fix it up and make it great. Germany is a ton of fun too.
If you want a dinner and a show go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review at Fort Wilderness. Its cheesy, but tons of fun. One of those interactive shows. As a honeymoon couple at the show you WILL get attention from the actors.

Well I'm not giving you an answer to your question since we love the 50s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios but I do want to tell you NOT to miss breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. It is soooo much fun and not just for kids!
Oh really? We were wondering if we should do that. is the food good?

brown derby has GREAT food but the sci fi diner is fun - it depends on what you're going for - fun or better food?
i LOVE Disney! i went there every single year for two weeks growing up. go to Mexico in Epcot!
What goes on at the Sci-Fi that makes it fun? Haven't been there so please explain. Thanks soooooooooooo much!
The inside is all dark and it set up like an old drive in movie theatre. you're sitting in an old 50's style car and the dash board is closer to you and serves as your table. they show movies on the screen and you watch them while you eat. It was a lot fo fun when we went. never been to the Derby before.

Another place to eat with the characters if you can't do that is at the Contemporary. My MOH and I did breakfast with the characters there, we were 20 & 24 and had a great time. Definitely not just for little kids.

You can't make reservations until 180 days before. I'm calling on Feb 10th through Feb 14th, exactly 6 months before

Re: Disney Restaurant Question
It really depends on when you're going. I usually make my dinner/lunch reservations about a month or two before I go, if it's going to be a busy time of year there. I've never had a problem with not being able to eat somewhere - sometimes you have to be flexible with the timing though. Since you're not going with kids, it's actually easier because you're not going to want to eat as early. However, if there is some place that you must eat, make reservations. You can start calling 180 days before.
