We also booked Island Classical Ensembles for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Just out of curiosity, were they recommended to you or did you see them at a showcase? I`ve never seen them in action, but I loved their demo. We booked a violin, cello, flute trio. Have you worked on your music selections yet? I plan to call Jordan Vogel sometime in late June (I`m getting married October 7 and I want to do my programs in July). Any suggestions!? All I know so far is that my processional will be to Pachelbel`s Canon in D! :) Thanks!

I booked them based on their demo, but I was a music major in college so when I spoke with Jordan I could tell he knew his stuff. Also, his price was much more reasonable than any others I consulted and Flowerfield recommended him. I'm doing a quartet-flute, violin, viola and cello which allows more selections than a trio, but a trio is just fine, :-) Selections....you could talk forever about selections. If you can narrow down your choice - such are Modern (like Gershwin), Romantic (18th century), classical (Mozart) or Baroque...I'm sure Jordan can recommend selections. For the ceremony you could try the Brandenberg concerto's. We are using that and the Prince of Denmark March. Go to a record store and buy some cheap 'Greatest Hits' CD's from names you know like Beethoven, Bach, Mozart (a little night music) and Vivaldi (Four Seasons). That will give you idea's. For the cocktail hour we are doing all Mozart for the first half hour, then gradually into contemporary (like Bernstein, Copeland and Gershwin) to build the party mood. Good luck. It will all be fine!
