DIY Invite Ideas

DIY Invite Ideas

My FH's Dad owns a printing company and we are getting a break on invites. Basically all we have to pay for is the paper. So, because he is doing this for us as a favor we had originally said we would just do plain and simple invitations. The words on white panel cards. Only now, after seeing all the wonderfully creative ideas on this site I would like to ask if anyone can help me add a little something to these invites, with little cost to us. Any thoughts ladies? TIA

how about adding a ribbon? or glueing a tiny little colored crystal at the top of the invite?

Depending on the kind of paper you're using, have you thought about rubber stamping? I know it sounds a little out of place, but FH and i found some really awesome stamps...they're called inkadinkadoo or something like that (just google it) and it's a cheap way to add a nice personal touch to invites.

you can do a whole punch in the top and tie a bow. that is always a cute personal touch.

or, they have the scrap booking pins..... i am not sure what they are called. but they come in silver, gold and black.... possibly more colors... they are decorative beads, that you punch a tiny whole in the invite and attach the pins to the paper. If you look in any craft store, scrap booking ile, you will see what i am talking about.

They have some really cute ones.

we had simple invites too... but we printed them onto water color paper and i think that made them very different... there are picts in my review... im not sure how well you can see the texture of the watercolor paper though...

How about if you get a same sized piece of white vellum and punch a hole in the top...then put the bow with the glue (peel and stick) on the underside of the knot onto the card..through the hole on the vellum. It will hold the vellum in place, which makes it look very elegant. If I can find a website, I'll post it!
