DIY Monogram Cake Topper

Hi ladies, I am looking for the 5-6'' monogram letters to decorate with swarovski crystals and use as my cake topper.

Anyone make their own? If so, is it hard? And where do you buy the letters? What are they made out of? How much did each letter end up costing you to make? I tried Michaels in Manhasset but they only have wooden block letters

TIA
