DIY projects?

How many months before your wedding are you starting your projects? I think Im going to start in Jan since Im getting married in July. It will give me plenty of time to get everything together.

What type of DIY projects are you doing? I'd love to try some to add a personal touch, save money anddd have something to do after I book all my vendors! I'm not very artsy though so i'm scared!

I started all of my DIY projects in January and am basically done. I was making centerpieces, my cake topper and things like that though. So I felt I needed to allow myself more time. I know there are a lot of other girls on here who have also started their projects.

I think it depends how many you have and how involved the projects are. I started mine early and I'm just doing a little bit at a time at my leisure.

Then I think 6 starting in Jan is perfect! Menus and programs won't take too long! I'm DIYing my centerpieces too!

I think you gave yourself a great timeline to do those - programs and menus come together in a snap!

I started in January but I have a loooooonggggg list of about 60-70 things I want to DIY so I've done a few things, took a break, done some more, break, etc. The girls on here are a huge help if you need to bounce ideas around, get templates, feedback, you name it!

I feel the same way. I think I would probably do menus and programs because those are pretty easy. I'm good with designing things on the computer. I will also try to make my card box but I will definitely need help from my family members who are more crafty. I can't think of anything else. But I would like to do more DIY projects.

Re: DIY projects?

As soon as I get engagement pics back we are DIY ing STDs. Then I want to do programs but I haven't booked a pastor and I really don't know what to even put on the program!!
I also need FH to do a LOT of those things with me because he's awesome at photoshop and printing stuff with his fancy printer and I am NOT.
I guess I'd want to DIY menus but I'm not sure... it might be nice to make them match the invites and programs somewhat also.
I planned on really starting this summer but only for programs and menus because STDs can't be done until this fall!

So far I'm planning on DIYing centerpieces, invitations, escort cards, unity candle and fabric pomanders for the ceremony.

Some semi DIY stuff: bathroom baskets, welcome bags for OOT guests (including do not disturb signs for OOT guests), favors, painting table numbers.

I'm also thinking about making a 'Thank you' sign for pictures.

Oooh if people book hotel rooms I forgot about the door signs and gift baskets. Also, I'm DIYing some candle holders. I hope to do most of it this summer after I move!! Prob more like late summer/fall I'll get this stuff done!
