DJ Appointments...

Hi ladies!!!

Sooo I have 4 DJ appointments booked over this next week and I'm sooo excited!!! I meet with After Hours and Variety tomorrow and then Genesis & LI Sound early next week. Anyone have any insight into any of these DJs and what I should expect??

I am also going to meet with Victory Entertainment after the new year - saw him at my friend's wedding 2 weeks ago and had never heard of them, but was blown away by how amazing they were & I would love feedback if anyone has any!!!

We booked with LI Sound because all we have heard are good things. Their equipment is very nice (at the appointment they will take you into their showroom).

Ok so 2 appts down - After Hours was great but veryyy expensive for what we want, so as much as I like them I just cant justify spending more on my DJ than we spent on our photo/video or our florist - it was almost more than both of those combined!!! Variety was great - good prices, very knowledgeable, and energetic without being crazy/obnoxious and over the top. Next it is on to Genesis and LI Sound during the week!

Kristy - I'm going to meet with Genesis tonight! I'm excited!!!

How was your appointment with genesis? I called them today as well as variety and bravura. I feel like the DJ is what is going to keep the party going all night and I want to make sure I have the best. I spoke to variety and liked what they had to say and just like you said they were very pleasant on the phone.

I need a company who is good communicating over the phone since I will be doing more of that rather than in person.

Any input you can give would be wonderful!!! Thank you!

Ok soo I met with Genesis last night... During the meeting I loved everything - they have a great variety of things u can do with ur reception (Paparazzi Corner, Dunkin Donuts Corner, photobooth, etc.) and have the most up-to-date technology. However, when we got to the end of the meeting I was incredibly disappointed. The price was in between quotes I got at Variety and After Hours, which I can deal with - that was no big deal. However, when he gave me the quote he told me that if we paid cash, he will take off the tax - I didn't call him out on it but I know that DJs cannot charge tax (& I hope most of you ladies know that too!)... I really liked them and was really upset when he said that bc I knew it was a lie. Then he asked who else I was going to see and rolled his eyes and scoffed at the other places I already saw or am going to see. That pissed me off bc I really like the other DJs we went to see; when each of them asked what other DJs we were going to see, they all responded with 'they're all great companies & obviously we hope u book with us, but we wish u luck no matter who u go with' - thats how a professional DJ company should act towards other companies, so I was very turned off by that. Between the whole tax thing and the standoffish way he acted toward other companies, FH and I took them out of the running immediately after we walked out of there. I'm sure those of you have already booked with them or are SC or Floral Terrace brides are fine, but just wanted the rest of u ladies who are still looking for a DJ know to be wary.

DB2013 - I did not see Bravura, but Variety is awesome! They were very professional and friendly and well-priced for what we are looking for... Very quick getting back to you when u call or e-mail them also. We met with Tom, but would be using MC Danny if we book with them - both of them are incredible tho!!!

LI Sound is up tonight - I've heard great things and am really looking forward to that appointment!!!

Ya DJ's dont charge tax they are not allowed too!!!
I booked my DJ the week i booked my hall i knew i wasnt going with anyone else b/c i grew up with them.
Thats a foul move to make!!!
