I am also interested in having a DJ and a band. My friend's band is great, but they have never done a wedding before. Also, we would prefer the introductions/formality songs to be done by a DJ. I am concerned that the transition from DJ to band (moving/setting up equipment) may not go over well. What do you think?

Presto''' We used a band and a DJ because we needed some ethnic music to be played. What we thought would be a big expense to have both really did not turn out to be that expensive. We used Faze 4 Orchestras. The DJ turned out to be only $700 more.(I not sure if they gave us a special price because it is the 3rd time my family is using them. The band also let the DJ use their Speaker System and sound man so there was not massive equipment on the stage. The only thing the DJ brought was his CD rack or whatever it is they call it. The transition was smooth, my family got the ethnic, and the band played all the club music, Barry White Sinatra, etc. The singers were all great. We dealt with Paul.
