No giveaways or throwaways as we called them!!!

However, I have to admit it was funny at FH's cousin's Bat Mitzvah to see an older balding guy walking around with a headband and yellow fuzzies hanging from it.

(Anyone remember those fuzzy headbands or those glitter spaceball headbands? This was a combination of both!!)

I agree with the girls that aren't having give aways. We aren't either...my FH says that it makes the event seem less classy.

We are having a lot of kids though...anyone think it would work to just get maybe one kind of give away and direct the DJ to only hand them to the kids????

IMO- giveaways are for bar/bat mitzvahs and sweet 16s NOT weddings.

we're having a band, but i hate when they have that stuff at weddings.

people always talk about how 'formal' they want their wedding to appear to others, and i think giveaways kind of lessen that formality

Agreed. The only things (and we'll only choose 1 or 2) we MIGHT do are sailor hats, visors, leis or beach balls since we are having a beach themed wedding.

no.... We feel thats more of a sweet sixteen/bar mitzvah thing..
Besides, in my past experienes people get them, put them on for 2 minutes and then are looking for someplace to put them down and they wind up all over the dance floor or on random tables.

We are!! We're having kids, so it'll be good to keep them busy. Plus I know our older guests will want some, keep them busy too!!

But hooray for those girls who are having them!
