Hi, I'm Diana's fiance and I'm hoping you can help me find the right DJ for us. We are getting married on Long Island in October of this year.
For several reasons (that all amount to poor excuses) I haven't booked a DJ yet for our wedding. Don't yell at me, please! :)
here is what we are looking for: - DJ for reception - needs to be classy - If we can find a great DJ at an affordable price we'd love to arrange for a package deal to include a instrumentalist/string quartet for the ceremony. Price is a consideration as we are paying for much of the wedding. If you have any recommendations for this kind of package deal, I'd love to hear them. - I reached out to After Hours Entertainment based on info on this site and are going to meet with them this week. If you have used them, who is the best DJ they have? And, if you are able to share quotes and prices that would be so very helpful.
Thank you for any and all help!

I'm using Silverfox and have had an amazing experience so far. I have been to a couple of weddings that they have been at and loved them.

I'm using After Hours as well. Phil is great to talk to. He will be our DJ and my friend also used him for his wedding and he told me to contact them for my wedding. My job even uses After Hours for their holiday party every year and everybody thinks he is great. Oh, and my aunt works at the Four Points hotel where he meets the brides and grooms so he is very well known.

We have just started looking into DJs as well, and we got quotes from After Hours and Variety Music. We really liked Ray from Variety Music. He was laid back and subdued, and understood what we wanted immediately. I'm sending you FM with the quotes we got. Hope this helps!

Bravura Entertainment. Very classy, all of them wear tuxes and are very professional. They offer tons of bands for your ceremony as well. I booked a Jazz trio and the DJ/MC package. They book quickly usually, so I would reach out to them soon if you're interested

I second After Hours or you can try FM Entertainment. We got good vibes from both of them. Good luck!

My friend used AfterHours & Phil was great! The entire dance floor was packed the entire night.
Other friends have used Bravura and LI Sound (and were very happy with both). They had live pieces at their weddings in addition to the DJ too.

I used After HOurs and I used Phil for my MC and Joe for my DJ. They were both wonderful. I also got uplighting and photobooth from them. My package was around $3k

LI Sound- they're reasonable and very nice. Tell them what you want, what you want to spend and they will try to make something work for you!

Thank you everyone! This is great info. I might have to start a new thread about this but I'll throw it out - do you any of you have a cigar roller referral to offer?

Frank from FMEntertainment has been amazing so far. He did a whole showcase for us to show us different styles which you can pick (level of energy, volume, involvement, etc). Give them a call!
