Bands are great because of the live music but I honestly prefer a DJ because I like hearing the songs by the original artists.....just my preference.

my family and i have used a wonderful dj company called FANTASY AFFAIR. i can't find his number right now I will have to dig it up. He's in medford and is a wonderful person and super high energy interactive dj. Every party he does when i am there he leaves with a few new parties booked. His name is John.

Band, no question. I would totally recommend my band, Soul Revival. I have seen them at quite a few weddings and they were great. They had everyone dancing all night...which is what I want Their website is www.soulrevivalband.com and they are a vendor on here too. Good luck

I went to a wedding a couple of years ago with a live band. During the couple's first dance the singer was way out of tune for a pretty big note. It left a bad taste in my mouth as far as live music, and years later I still remember that when I think of this wedding...

DJ all the way. I'm not a big fan of bands. I like to hear a song the way I know it (that's just one of my idiosyncracies). I'm a big fan of dance music, house, freestyle, techno etc and I just can't see a band perform house music, techno or the rest. I think your selection is probably more limited with a band wherefore a DJ just has to throw it on and press play. I have seen some DJs that suck though . If you go w/a DJ make sure you get a good MC.

Band-hands down. Nothing like live music. there's an energy that you can't get with a DJ when you have live people performing.

If money was the problem, I would certainly cut somewhere else before I would cut music or food. I think those are the two most noticeable things besides the bride!
