Hi Ladies,

We have been looking for DJ's and they seem to be really expensive. We are just looking for a DJ/MC for ceremony, cocktail and reception with Up lighting. Nothing to crazy, however we are getting quoted for over 2K, is that the norm?

are you looking for a two person show or a one man dj/mc? for two people, depending on what kind of lighting you are going to get, it sounds right to me.

I'm not doing uplighting, but from what I've heard it can be expensive. Definitely look into After Hours - Phil is awesome!

we are paying 2500 for our DJ ad MC along with a other add ons :) but they are really great, we are using Freddy with Xtreme Sounds my sister is using EJ the DJ and paying half of that but she doesn't have anything extra

My quote is for $1800 because I booked at a showcase, without that it would have been $2000. I am not using them for a ceremony (I will be in a church) but I am getting all the other things that you mentioned. Uplighting is a large chunk of that cost, but to me it is worth it because it makes us happy lol.

Try Above and beyond entertainment. We met with Robert and fell in love with them. We got a great price and they had the least expensive rate for uplighting. I am in love with the up lighting but didnt think we could fit it into our budget until we met with Robert. Check them out :)Good luck!

I just emailed my DJ to find out if he has uplighting. We're not having it because The Swan Club already has it. He quoted us $800 for cocktail hour and reception with DJ/MC. We're not doing giveaways, photobooth or other stuff. Just music. I don't know if this quote is for everyone, or if it's because the DJ and FH have been friends and coworkers for years.

Ok, so my DJ uses someone else for uplighting. If you use my DJ, the uplighting is $300 extra. Use another DJ, and it's $450.
